Default Were the trades worth it?

There's been some controversy surrounding BC's trades from TJ to Turkoglu. From what I've gathered this has been the consequence.... which may need to be adjusted in the near future given the rumours about Banks, Wright, George.

You be the judge.

Were the trades worth it?

1 horrible season (this may be enough for some of you to decide).

Toronto Gets:
Turkoglu
Jack?
Wright
George
Marcus Banks
$3M

Toronto Gives up:
Charlie Villanueva
Rasho (who may need to be taken off this list if the raps sign him)
Baston
Moon
Jawai
Araujo
1st rounder (Hibbert)
Lottery Protected Number 1
2nd rounder
$ (not sure how much is going to Memphis for the Turkoglu trade)

Why is this a poll? When the only good player on the other list is TJ?

its hard to say when you dont know what other options were available and we havent seen this team on the floor yet... but i do love ppl setting themselves up for disappointment the last couple years, thinking we will win 47 or more and be contenders.

It's a process that takes time, and after three seasons a few good moves and a few risky ones that didn't quite workout, things are now starting to take shape. Considering we had a great season in 06-07 and have been better since BC took over, it's nice to have a GM that makes things happen, good or bad and isn't afraid to correct his mistakes quickly and thrives to be a contender.

So yes it's all worth it and now i'm getting excited for next season. Last summer after the JO trade most here were optamistic and i was skeptical to say the least with good reason. This summer i'm impressed by our moves and excited to see what we can do.

No mention of Marion? Looking at trades in terms of what was ultimately given up going back more than one season never works.

OMG, Ugo, you're right! I'll make the change for Charlie V/Araujo (thanks, LX).

Marion and O'Neal don't count, as they were only passing through.

Jawai out

Douby and POB in.

Adams out

Far to many varables to asses that way.

It would just have to be the immediate trades, and I'll reserve judgement till 82+ games into next season.

On paper it looks great though.

Horrible season is softened by a 9th pick. And for many - by fireing Smitch

Overall we are in a better position now. On paper.

Also, we gave up Bonner and Eric Williams for Rasho. Also, i would do this trade 10 times out of 10

o man, jawai is just starting to show something something and he already been traded... TJ Ford is a good PG player who is scoring machine, the only way that Calderon look better than him is that his size and his basic dribbling that keeps the ball keep going without turning it over. I still Think TJ shouldve stayed cos after he left last year Raptors was ridiculous... worst than i expected.

GM's make mistakes and Colangelo is no different. The true test of a GM is how well he does long term and how well he can correct mistakes made in the past. I love what Colangelo is doing right now. He is redeeming himself after some questionable moves that failed.
