+1. If he calm down and just play the way that he did last night he'd be a welcome fixture to the team.

I think it depends who they draft. If they get Harrison Barnes or Terrence Jones, they won't sign Weems, They have Barbosa, James Johnson, and Kleiza.

weems has minimal potential, he is nothing more than a bench guy that can give you 10-12 a night with 3-4 boards 1-2 assists and 1 steal. i don't know why hes even complaining, on any other team he would not even be get playing time.

barbosa doesn't seem to fit anymore, beg of season he was looking good but after that had injury it just seems like he has lost it all. i'm sure in the off season we can find someone willing to take him on as hes a proven legit six man of the year and will be going into UFA in 2012.
on kleiza i'd actually like to see him stay, he really improved his game before his knee injury with the post play and shooting better. i still believe he is a fit just off the bench.

too bad he doesnt think the same way. klieza dipped denver and went to europe because of a bench role. only reason he came to toronto was to start and i dont see that happening any time soon which means heel try to prove himself in limited mins which will be his death. aka, chucking given the opportunity and looking more for stats rather than doing the dirty work.

If Weems goes, then maybe Derozan will go too. Antoine Wright left the raptors, as a free agent and got waived by Sacremento, wonder if the same thing happens to weems.

I personally like competition within a team. Brings out the best in players. If it brings out the worst. then really we dont want them type of players on the Raptors anyways. Look at Davis and Amir. Both playing great ball right now. They know that thier position is up for grabs if they start to slack off.
Calderon brought up his game when bayless started showing up to play.
We need a solid centre that will do the same for Bargnani. Otherwise we are left with him calling the shots.

You can't make everybody happy. Someone must play and others must sit and work hard.

Weems was starting to get back to the way he was playing in the begging of the season when he got the starting gig before JJ got traded he. It's unfair that some guy like JJ can just show up here and take away Weems starting job without playing a single game.

Weems only had a starting gig cause the lack of talent on the wings. I'd hope that a more talented guy comes in and upgrades the position like JJ has. Fair is exactly what it is.

It's not fair because Weems was playing good before he got yanked.

define good? below league average? selfishly? for a contract? like he didn't deserve a starting spot?

I just don't see it. He's a bench guy at best. He certainly wasn't and isn't entitled to a starting spot.

If Weems goes, I have a feeling Demar follows suit.

Come on man, if at Demar's potential he hangs around with "losers" (no knock on Weems as a guy he's just shouldn't be in Demar's class) then he wasn't born to win anyways.

I want a guy who wants to play and win basketball games. Not a guy that just wants to hang out with his buddies.

well, we'd have like 4-5 more years with DD anyways before that's likely to happen... so we can always trade him like we didn't do with Bosh at any point before then.

if demar leaves because of weems then demar has a bigger problem, he's going to let a bench player affect his allstar potential like that??
