Although he denies it, Duca did indeed attend a Jennings fanboy clubhouse meeting on November 15th. He's very close to joining the club and earning his juniour achievement badge by promoting Jennings for ROY after only his 8th game (see his comments in the Jennings thread).

This post from the Jennings thread got him invited to the clubhouse meeting.

I'd like to note that we needed a back up point guard all of season, up until we signed Jack. It was quite obvious Roko wasn't our man. We also were expecting to resign AP, so drafting DD was really a suprise. I don't know about you but having Jennings as a backup and AP as the starting SG looks a lot better then the situation we are in right now.
Then, later in the thread, Duca endeared himself to the Jennings fanboys when he said "Jennings is more of a baller than Jack", which further suggested that Duca thinks we should have drafted Jennings.

In his very next post after that, Duca sealed the deal on his clubhouse membership. He elaborated on his thoughts of drafting Jennings when he claimed that the MLE would have been better spent on a shooting guard. Hearing this, the fanboys cheered, high fived Duca, and granted him full membership privileges at the clubhouse.

It's now up to Duca to decide whether or not to join the darkside or come back to reality. Sorry for my douchiness, but I'm trying to save Duca from the fanboys.

I'm not quite sure I am young enough to receive the junior achievement badge, unfortunately.

Truth is Jennings is better than Jack, and Jennings would have been a better pick then DD. regardless of the numbers he is putting up in Milwaukee. I was pushing for the drafting of James Johnson, and right now could not care less where Jennings is playing. Point is he is still ripping the league up in style, which deserves some type of praise. Believe I am usually not this optimistic (ask Jeff) but I am calling it right now; Jennings will get the Rookie of the Year award.

So yes, I could possibly be a fanboy, but no I haven't converted to the dark side.

jarrett jack is a proven starter in this league...Jennings has played 8 games...

Proving starter who's done jack shit as a back up. If you put Jack in the exact same situation as Jenning, he wouldn't be putting up half the numbers. Jennings is a better player. period.

yea. we already have the joey graham lookalike (Sonny Weems). why not a moon lookalike?

We can have the same team as last year, but only the lookalike version ! That'd be crazy! lol

All I can say is 55 points from Jennings? WTF

For all the crappy players that Milwaukee signs or even lets walk they sure no how to draft players...They just can't keep any of them...Jenning's will be huge in trade talks by next year or even this summer...

Book it!

but do you think jennings would be putting those numbers if he were in a Raptors uniform?...and say bucks got deozan, we would be drooling over the numbers he would be putting up, he would easily get the start over charlie bell and average 15 ppg....and once again, jennings might be a better player in the long run, jack is a better fit for us right now...

and looking back at last years team, Jennnigs is everything we dont need and Jack is everything we do need...

Jennings is a jump shotting under sized player who rarely plays defense.....he reminds me of ramon sessions, who had a 44 point game and has had more impressive games...

Jack plays defense, is tough as nails, and is a slasher....all the things we lacked last season....

Futuree NBA star vs Jack...I think the star wins 10 times out of 10. That's like saying that you would take Jack over Arenas. Realistically, you know you would pick Jennings over Jack any day of the week. Get real here.

This is a dumb debate; fact is Jennings is one of the top players in the league right now. If you don't accept it fine with me. Oh yeah, and he is better than Jack and I would take him over Jack RIGHT now. I think anyone with a half sober mind would take Jennings of Jack. Unless suddenly he is hit with a bad injury, he's going to keep putting up 25 a night. Luckily for him Redd will be back soon and he won't have so much pressure on his shoulders, but I guarantee he will keep on being a star in the league.

sure Jennings is better than Jack, but so are 20-30 other PG's in the league
that doesn't make him a star

hes played 8 games

when redd comes back his ppg will go down...and redd can average 25ppg but does that make him a star?

and for the third time....jack is a better fit for our team....

How is Jack a better fit for this team? If anything Jack late game decisions has caused us a couple losses. So is causing losses is a good fit for the team then thumbs up to losing. If you guys are honestly arguing that Jennings will not (is not) a star in this league, I'd like to see some attempt of and argument other then "he's only played 8 games". Gimme a break.

Jennings wouldn't be a great fit either though.

He's a shoot first, ask questions later PG. We need a facilitator out there with either unit. Jose is the 4th option and Jack is about the third option out there respectively. Jennings in Milwaukee right now is playing as the first option. We already have Bosh, Bargnani, Turk etc. We needed a team guy.

So, while Jennings may be the overall better player in the draft (and dictating who the best player from the draft is/was after 8 games is not a great way to go about things) DeRozan was the smart pick because we haven't had athleticism from the wing spots. DD gave us that option with an extremely high ceiling. Add into the fact that he would be protected by 4 or 5 players and it's smart pick at 9. Its a player that fits into the team.

As for saying he's not going to be a star. Again, kid reminds me alot of Stephon Marbury. Scoring PGs, while nice to have, never have successful long careers (Francis, Marbury, Tim Hardaway) or really win. Your long term successful players are ones who can score but look to it as a secondary option/choice because getting other guys looks is more important (Paul, Deron, Payton, Kidd etc.)

a score first PG is like a running QB, fun to watch but won't get you a ring

A00 all you are saying is Jack is a proven starters and Jennings has only played 8 games. That means jack shit to me. Jack is getting beat right now by backup point guards in the league. Jennings is 14th in the league in assists to, with limited players to pass to. He is also 4th in rookie rebounding. He's a beast. I am not really arguing that I wish the Raptors would have taken Jenning, but Jennings would fit any situation better then Jack.
