You sir... are crazy!! And you're right, he's not a lock to go 2nd... he should go 1st. He would be drafted ahead of them if they decalred. He was going to drafted ahead of the, before they backed out.

Out of the 16 playoffs teams, which one doesn't have star or above average small forward? Which of the contending teams does not have a star? It's not a 100% necessity, but you really would have to make up for the vacuum at every other position.

Honestly, it's impossible to tell what kind of player JJ will become.
The team would be extremely undersized at the PG, SG, and SF positions. Maybe use this lineup from time to time, but it should be the starting lineup nor used the majority of time.

Instead, Bayless should stick at PG and DD at SG. Let them develop at their natural positions.

Regarding the original question posed, the club has quantity but not necessarily quality at the SF position. Most of the SFs are backup quality players who can start on occasion. The club could definitely use an upgrade at the position.

Besides, Kapono is available, think it would be a good choise? The guy was "born to do it"
obviuosly i want a guy who can play defence also

just look at how dangerous the mavericks are

when they put a lineup of Kidd, terry, peja, dirk and chandler out on the floor its almost impossible to defend the 3 point line

james johnson in miami, plis wade and lebron wh can hit the 3 bibby

Julien Wright is gone for sure! We will have to bring in a replacement to get us to when Klieza's back (maybe longer). So no matter what 1 sf will be added.
If Sonny and Demar are still super friends I'd keep him for chemistry (long term 11th man).
We traded a late 1st. round pick for an unpolished talent, we might as well let him play. He has the confidence, hopefully he's in the gym all summer. DD didn't look that great at all last year (some people on here thought sonny was better).
IMO draft .g.
sign :defensive center
trade for/ sign :backup sf (with 1 yr contract)

According to 82games, stat wise DD is better at SF than SG...not much but that move shouldn't be ignored. If the team had more depth at SG I think we would have seen DD at SF and Barbosa at SG starting together more. I would love to see Barbosa stay and I don't think he will get more than his 7.6mil option next year. That gives the Raps the option to go after a SG in a trade to back-up Barbosa if Williams is not there. At the very least, I'm thinking Barbosa might be a good trading chip if a trade is set-up to a team that he likes: and if I were in his position and wanted to go to a contender (who's probably over the cap anyways) I wouldn't pick-up my option till that were the case.

Someone also mentioned that we are over the cap and couldn't offer more than the MLE however that could change very quickly if the GM wanted to by releasing the rights to players not signed next year. Or even used as a trade and waive with another time wanting to get under the cap.

We have a number of options for the SF and definitely not set there as of yet. If the team wanted Williams and he's not there then the team could just slide DD to SF. I like JJ as a back-up whoever starts which IMO he is. JJ's energy and hustle is always great to have off the bench.

In the end, I still think a pg is a good choice to go after in the draft. There are a lot of options the team can do at the positions we need help with. If we draft a pg then then address the 2or3 (depending where DD plays) and 5. If we draft Williams for the SF then definitely the 5 and look at the 1.

Not a truer statement regarding the Raps no matter who we draft.
