Default We really need a C

Moving forward, we really need a C. With a core of DD, Bayless, Amir, JJ, and Davis, we need a true center that can operate offensively and defensively. Bosh and Bargs didnt work so lets not continue it with Bargs with Amir/Davis. Amir and Davis are not centers and cant defend them consistently, so we really need a C. Or at least a C that can play big

I was just thinking how much I'd like to see the Raptors draft Valanciunas. He could be a great fit.

...They might even be able to trade down to get him.

I'm not a fan of drafting centers, historically that has never worked for this team. We should trade or sign for a center, it is less risky.

Well I don't see any centers that catch my attention in this year's draft, but all we need is a C that can play big rather than having Bargs as our C. We could get that C through draft or trade

I'm not a fan on drafting centers either.

Look at a couple of past drafted centers in the lotter: Hasheem Thabeet, Greg Oden, Spencer Hawes, Patrick O'Bryant, etc.

They're bust-prone.

rafael arujo, and Bargnani as well. Unless its Dwight or Shaq... don't draft a center.

I'm of that mind as well.... unless there's a can't miss prospect out there I'd rather get an established (proven) player who's still fairly young via FA.

The odds of us getting a "true" centre are very low, there simply aren't a lot of very skilled 6'11" + guys out there. If anything you should hope to see Alabi get some minutes next year and develop for the future. And to be honest I don't see much of a problem with 6'10" guys like Ed or Amir playing C consistently, shit, Chuck Hayes is 6'6" and gets it done.

I'd rather have Amir and Davis guarding PFs than Cs. I don't want another Chris Bosh moment where Amir and Davis complain about playing C when they should be playing PF

If only we kept Hibbert. 7'2" 280lbs, solid post up game and he's a presence at defending the paint. If you pair him up with Davis or Amir you have a mix of power, size, speed, and skill in the paint.

There is no saying we'd of drafted him... We traded the pick away, Hibbert was chosen by the Pacers.

^Considering we also needed a C at the time, that could of been a possibility if we didn't try to get a big name defensive stopper that failed and was traded away the same season. Now that I think about it I wished we kept the pick and did pick Hibbert, he was way younger than Oneal and seems pretty solid so far

But I dont know would you guys go for Oden if he was available? Even though he's injury prone and hasn't done anyting

I think the Blazers are resigning him. They still haven't given up on him yet. I would love to see him play here if we can some how get him during the summer. I think our athletic staff can do a better job in keeping him healthy

Ya hes still fairly young. I think hes 22/23 by now actually. Well everybody on that blazers team is available. There's not much that really excite me this year in the draft, so I actually hope that Colangelo takes a gamble and trade our pick + for oden

Wouldnt mind trading Jose + for Hibbert either

If we're not going to ridiculously overpay for a C - which we shouldn't - I think we should aim for somebody like Kwame Brown.

No, seriously, Kwame Brown.

He's a really good post defender. He offers little to nothing on the offensive end but that's not where our problems are. He provides 75% of the production of a lot of Cs for 10% of the cost. His per-36 numbers are very good.

Definately, draft/hire a Center or 2. Then move Bargs to the SF, and start Ed Davis at PF
