I'm of the mindset now that Bosh will probably re-sign so this is just to get discussion on this subject. Let's say Bosh walks and we get nothing in return?

We'd still have:

Jose
Jack
Turkoglu
Bargnani
Derozan
Belinelli
Evans

+ $$ by not re-signing CB4

If he agrees to a S&T we have those players + whatever we get in return. IMO BC Colangelo has set up this team to include Chris, but he has also setup this team up to go forward without him if need be and still have success.

imo I think we're better off just letting Bosh walk right now. We have a lot of nice pieces right now. If we let Bosh walk, we will have cash to go after a true center and move Bargs back to his natural power forward spot.

But if he were to I think it'd be a sign and trade.

Bosh is still the cornerstone of this franchise. However, if he chooses greener markets, he still needs Raptors to help him to nail the most out of his new contract. So, expect a better than Marion S&T scenario for the next off season.
All I hope is that he will let Raptors know about his intentions, so they can prepare the strategy without him being the central piece of the offense. Actually, it would be a very good idea to start to develop a strategy that involves more schemes than Bosh+Jose pick&roll. Now we have Turk, a more confident Bargs, hopefully a healthy Jose and a good initiator in Belinelli!

Even if Bosh does leave we still won't be able to find a center that has the same value as Bosh.

Yea seriously.
Only good center that may try to fill up Bosh's shoes IF he walks is probably Tyson Chandler, because he is the only good center on the 2010 class that may ask for less money than Stoudemire aside from Camby.

But looking on the roster we have now, I must be impressed if I was Bosh.

when does Banks's contract expire?

On topic, if Bosh leaves then BC will bring out the big guns and bring in more talent for us

we have to wait and see how Bosh develops this year. If we don't sign bosh, i am pretty sure BC will replace him with a great player. keeping Bosh would be great, but with the team we have we can replace him and not lose.

I personally think that IF by the trade deadline, we are not in a position to compete, it would be dumb if BC doesn't trade bosh.

If you can get some nice young peices, and if you have a decent core, there is no reason to hang on to him. You could probably pull a Lamarcus Alridge or a Al Jefferson-type border line all star in addition to some nice up comers.

I think if you let Bosh walk, you lose out on gaining something in return, and especailly because the city is not a hot bed for free agents, it is something we have to keep in mind.

Bosh for a LA, Jefferson, David West, Amare type + a couple of more good young players, I think BC needs to pull the trigger IF WE ARE not competing

I've written on this subject before - all these great moves were supposed to increase, dramatically, our overall talent level and roster's versatility and depth. If this turns out not to be enough to keep Bosh - fine, at least BC would know (and all of us as well) that he did all he could to improve the team around Bosh. In such scenario, it'd still be vitally important to get as much value as possible out of Bosh, be that a February trade or S&T next summer.

But most importantly - there are enough exciting pieces on this team now to keep the fans interested and the team competitive even if Bosh walks for nothing. Not that BC would allow that to happen...

Bosh ain't going no where. We made all these moves this offseason to surround Bosh with good role players. IMO, he isn't going anywhere

Not really. They can do a buyout if he'll agree to it. Doesn't free up cap space, just gives them more room up to tax level if MLSE will agree to it which they probably would since the buyout amount avoids the tax penalty. BC will wait though and see if he can dump his contract on another team first.

We'd have around $11 mil to sign a center but we'd lose a lot of bench depth too since we'd have to renounce a bunch of them and wouldn't have the MLE.
