Default We now see that our team needs Calderon !

Was on Calderon's web site and it seems that his return date is still up in the air.

A minor muscular injury will have José Manuel Calderón away from the basketball courts during the next games. His expected date of return is still unknown but in the next few days more tests will be conducted to know the status of his recovery.

José Manuel Calderón

After getting to see our team play without Jose we all can see that we miss the guy running our offence. Hopefully he returns at 100 %. Guys like DD look worst without with Jose. There is lack of chemistry with Jack on the floor. Guys like Belli and DD have struggled since Jose went down. Jose's leadership is sadly missed. I was having second thoughts my self about Jose but now after watching our team play without him this team really misses him running the show.

As much as I like Jack, I like Caldy starting much more. IDK why you guys hate on him so much, he does all the right things. Sure he was bad in the start of the year but ever since then he has only gotten better

man they always call it "minor" for caldy but it never is, hope the guy isn't out as long as Reggie. Jack's a great player but I don't see him playing starting PG on a regular basis.

Jack's been a better point guard as a starter than Jose has this year. We've got ourselves a team of shooters, and a team of shooters needs a guard that can get into the paint and draw defenders - JJ does that, Jose does not.

Belli was struggling before Jose went down, and DD's recent struggles are more a case of team's sagging off and forcing him to take jump shots.

IMO any trade involving Chris Bosh will involve Calderon.

Calderon & Jack are respectable point guards each with their own deficiencies. Its nice driving a Toyota & Honda, but man I wish I was driving a Ferrari. Sometimes you can find some gems through free agency like Nash, or through trades like Devin Harris, but the best ones are picked in the draft (Paul, DWill). I was watching the Kentucky game this weekend. The John Wall kid is going to be special.

Come on, we are not that better with Calderon. We need a quick point guard who can cross you over and over and over...

If Jose could play all out without breaking down and then playing hurt, then yeah, we would need that guy. We could use Garbajosa before the injury as well.

As we all see our defence is not any better with or without Jose in the line up.

However our offence has suffered with Jose out of the line up. I want to see our team win....i hope jack plays well tonight getting 1 assist and having 5 t/o's like the last game could be the worst in the history of our team...maybe the worst for any starting point guard in the NBA.

Just looking at some numbers i was not surprised to see that Jose is 8th in the NBA in
offencive rating. Bosh is 14th. 2009-10 NBA Expanded Leaders | Basketball-Reference.com

Offensive Rating

1. Pau Gasol-LAL 129.9
2. Chris Paul-NOH 129.4
3. Al Horford-ATL 126.6
4. Carl Landry-HOU 126.2
5. Steve Nash-PHO 124.2
6. Nene Hilario-DEN 124.1
7. Marc Gasol-MEM 124.1
8. Jose Calderon-TOR 122.6
9. Luke Ridnour-MIL 122.2
10. Jared Dudley-PHO 121.8
11. Beno Udrih-SAC 121.5
12. Tim Duncan-SAS 121.5
13. Louis Williams-PHI 121.0
14. Chris Bosh-TOR 120.8
15. Mike Bibby-ATL 119.4
16. Paul Pierce-BOS 119.4
17. Channing Frye-PHO 119.2
18. Chauncey Billups-DEN 119.1
19. LeBron James-CLE 118.9
20. Jason Richardson-PHO 118.3

When you look at our top floor units Jose is again a big part of it. Look at this :Toronto Raptors top five man units data from 82games.com

Calderon-DeRozan-Turkoglu-Bargnani-Bosh +12

Calderon-Belinelli-Turkoglu-Bargnani-Bosh +18

Jack-Belinelli-Turkoglu-Johnson-Bosh + 9

Jack-DeRozan-Turkoglu-Bargnani-Bosh -1

When you look at these line ups the following stick out. Both Calderon and Jack play better with Beli, however DD is alot better with Jose. Maybe we should have Beli start with Jack until Jose gets back from his injury. Jack right now is hurting us as our starting point pg playing with DD, TURK , Bosh AND BARGS.

Jose in the only damn player that can make a 3 consistently! Or shots in general for that matter. The raps are a jump shooting team and when they can't make 50% or more shots per game they're screwed!
