Calderon has a fragile personality. He is one who needs to feel wanted and in turn it boosts his confidence which in turn boosts his play. We have seen it with him time and time again over the course of his career here.

With this trade and nix I feel the guy will come in discouraged , sulk perhaps and/or just not play well for us. I dont blame him either because he loves it here and it's clear BC wants him gone it wont sit well with him. I am not saying he will be a malcontent or trouble but the effort just from goodwill wont be there.

I really hope BC can work something else before the season starts but I am unsure what he can get now.

I think Jose is gone some way or another this off-season.

He understands that its about the PG situation and a good deal for the team.

Doubt there is bad blood between him and BC or anybody else on the team... now thats Hedo is gone ;P

If the PT between Jack, Jose and Barbosa can be sorted out, why not keep Jose. But tbh, I doubt it can be solved without Cack combination and it sucks

Jose needs to go almost as bad as Hedo did. One down one to go.

What did he do that he needs to go this bad?
Before you reply with defense blablabla, remember that our team scores more points than the opponent when he is on the floor

This certainly isn't the first team that we've discussed Jose with. Another deal is out there. I'm just pretty sure that none are beter then this one was, if there was it would be done by now.

Jose is a professional he knows that being traded is always part of the being in the NBA.
Obviously he would prefer to be in Toronto but wouldn't do a Turk.

To answer this original question

Doug Smith said some other East team shows interest in acquiring Jose.

Indiana, if they ever want to have PG business with TO, would give Mike Dunleavy expiring no prob
Detroit is in trouble with Stuckey. Tayshaun expiring is doable I think, they have a better player in Daye

Memphis needs PG alongside Conley
Philly only has surrogate PGs in Jrue, Lou Williams, Evan Turner and Iguodala
Milwaukee doesn't have anybody behind Jennings
Portland might consider swapping Andre Miller
Atlanta needs an upgrade

so there are plenty possible targets. Be sure that BC won't give him away cheap (starting center and rotation forward was not a shabby return, huh?)

A good passing point guard who can average up to 8 assist per is hard to find!

D. Smith:

Quote:
There are no indications what Colangelo might do now with either Calderon or Evans, but league sources indicate at least one Eastern Conference team remains quite interested in obtaining Calderon, the 28-year-old point guard who has spent his entire five-year NBA career with the Raptors.

-------------------------------

League sources would not identify the other teams interested in acquiring Calderon, who has three years and more than $28 million left on his contract.

League officials insist the other part of Colangelo’s grand remake — Hedo Turkoglu to Phoenix for Leandro Barbosa — will go through with no worries but it has not advanced far enough to be considered officially completed.

There was no official word why the original Charlotte deal was killed. Published reports suggest the Bobcats may have had concerns with a 10 per cent trade kicker in Calderon’s contract — although it would seem inconceivable they wouldn’t have known when the deal was agreed to around noon Monday — and that Bobcats coach Larry Brown nixed the deal when he heard about it.

Other sources suggest Bobcats owner Michael Jordan got cold feet after the deal had been agreed to by Colangelo and Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins. However, league sources also say Higgins would not likely have agreed to a trade without at least apprising Jordan of what was going on.

The trade had progressed so far that Chandler had been told he’d be a Raptor and Evans had used his Twitter account to say goodbye to fans in Toronto. Calderon, sources say, had also been told of what looked like his imminent departure.

WTF? Do you just like to make up bullshit in order to make a thread? I'm pretty sure you're mixing MeJ up with Jose.

Nah, I think it would motivate him more. He always wanted to stay with Toronto, and would play his ass off if we still keep him. And plus, he has always responded "Basketball is a business" when people asked him about trade rumours.
