Wow, I just saw that Hornets won the lottery!!! There was an article about Stern selling hornets and promising the new owner number 1 pick! Conspiracy....

I've been saying this for months, but now it seems appropriate. I would like to see the raps do something that's done in other leagues' drafts, but not much in the nba; if like to see the raps trade down (while picking up assets) and then trade down (or out) again while picking up more assets again.

There are some good pieces available in the late lottery, and I wouldn't mind trading down - then seeing who's still there - then decide what to do.

Let's hope BC can work some draft-day magic and make a significant trade for a starting calibre SF, sign Nash, fill out the roster and call it a day.

Bummer. Pick if barnes beal robinson lamb drop. trade draft day if not.

Bullshit that NBA owned team wins... seriously?

And anything in the world except a 6-11 SF player that can't rebound (PJ)

I'm of two minds. Depending on what shakes out at the top, I think you try to trade up at all costs. The top 3-4 players (in my order, Davis, MKG and Thomas Robinson) are all guys who have the ability to be impact players and really only MKG is the one guy we should target at almost any cost.

I do think that Beal will be available at 8 (I can't live with this team taking Jeremy Lamb, Andre Drummond etc) and maybe Dion Waiters. If they're both gone, do what DWSC said and trade down and add talent to this team (which is what we lack). We need talent and adding cap friendly rookie contracts just makes it that much more necessary.

i think we should hold the pick. Guys like Rivers and Sullinger were projected top 10 last season before they stayed back. Them now being 15-20 just shows this draft is pretty decent. I'd be happy with any of Lamb,Barnes,Kendall Marshall, Perry Jones, Rivers. Some of you need to realize our team as it is won't go very far even if we make the playoffs. We need to keep building with these kind of players, and not go all out for a late career borderline star.

Is that a hunch? Or is it based on something else. Just curious, because some credible analysts have him going as high as #2.

I'm excited to see what Stefanski can do. This is the main reason BC brought him in, he has an eye for the diamonds in the rough. It would seem like a waste to trade the pick now.

i like him more as a SF. we need someone who can help handle and distribute the ball on the wing. although demar improved in both areas throughout the season, i don't think it's a position he'll be comfortable in. getting someone like lamb, rivers, beal, even waiters, it'll fill that need and give us a more complete roster/rotation. we don't necessarily have to come out of the draft with a starter, demar can start at the shooting guard, but i don't think he should be our shooting guard for 35+ minutes a night.

A lot of those analysts were just going off of standings as well. I've read a few pieces recently where Beal has fallen past 10 (concerns about his ability to be motivated and be a 'star' player have been questions). I place him in the same boat at Harrison Barnes.

On a hunch, I think you're looking at most teams going after the bigs early in this draft. Drummond I think goes much higher than he's pegged and so does Henson. I also wouldn't be surprised to see PJIII go top 5 because he has talent to be top 5, but just his work ethic (but scouts drool over talent).

So yeah, I think Beal ends up around the 5-8 mark personally.

Beal has gone from underrated to overrated in a bit. His Florida team was mediocre on the road and he looked very pedestrian in games this year. As well, in difficult environments he looked terrible as well.

So yeah, there's a very real chance he drops.

You and me both. Miller was a top recruit before he went down with an injury. Reminds me of a poor man's Durant.
