We Almost Traded Joey

I just read on RealGm that a deal was in place during this past season between the Raptors and Warriors that would have landed us Marco Belinelli with Joey Graham becoming a Warrior. Belinelli was telling everyone he was being traded and was practically on his way to the airport, when GS pulled the plug on the deal.

I wonder if there is any possibility that this trade talk could be revived this summer? Boy it would be nice to have him here at SG.

don't care much for Belli

if the Raps draft a SG (Evans) and resign Delfino and AP, where does that leave him?

Tell you the truth, I'd pick Belli over Delfino and AP. And you'd think having Andrea here might supplement his game.

its to bad that belli didn't get a chance to come here but I'm kind of glad he didn't come just because your worried what kind of affect he would have on bargnani, but I wouldn't mind it now Bargnani proved he can play so adding belli now would probably make Bargs even better just because he'll have an ally, especially if Anthony Parker leaves, AP kind of helped Bargs well it seemed like they were good friends

I like Bellinelli's game. He showed he could contribute when he got the playing time.

Did you read the OP or did you just skim it and add your commentary. Considering the title of the thread says we ALMOST traded Joey for Belinelli and not we WILL trade Joey for him, your question of where does that leave him is a moot point.

This is farily old news. I remember reading aboiut this in another thread here. Anyways I would lvoe that deal to go through. ONly if it did...

Yeah, i brought it up 6 months ago. But with this it seems to have been almost a done deal. I would have loved this happening and i'm hoping that talks heat up again between us and GS and we somehow land Belinelli.

i wouldn't take belinelli over AP or delfino, but i still would've taken him over joey
especially when he's more of an SG and delfino and AP can play the SF, which means no need for joey anyways

Delfino is so overrated around here. Am I the only one who remembers the erratic play? Bringing it for five to ten games and then disappearing for just as many?

He's a 35 year old man and until last season he was one of the best, most consistent players the Raptors had. Parker is more useful now than Delfino and although he lost some of consistency last season, he was still more consistent than Delfino ever was in his season in Toronto.

Oh gee, I can't decide between a player bricking ill advised fadaway mid range jumpers with nobody on him or a player that parked at the corners of the three point line and bricked every three.

either way, everyone is just describing things that are still better than what joey brought to the team, but anyways this is a non-factor now as there's little to no chance the Raptors are even thinking of bringing joey back
