We are 7th.

In the East, as the Sixers beat the Celtics in Boston. :(

I'm scared.

JattDogg 03-24-2008 11:18 PM

ya man, whats going on with philly...riding a wave or just that good?

beat boston and been kickin ass lately...

7th is not good for us..we need orlando in first round or we are screwed..i think they are our best hope to beat anyone outside of washington.

Ball Don't Lie 03-24-2008 11:20 PM

Boston forgot to show up, uch.

Our April sched negates us from getting 7th unless we really do suck or we lose like 4 in a row these next 2 wks.

Krazy Ivan 03-24-2008 11:53 PM

Boston is trying to get Raps to fall to 8th so they will face them... :evillaugh:

philadelphia has an easier schedule than us, and wizards, if they manage a 2-3 or better in their west trip, they will also have a light schedule after that. Not to mention that they are playing very well too, beating good team after good team .. #7 is becoming a very possible outcome for us.

We only have 2 over .500 teams to face, PHI's cant be easier than that. We're better than PHI anyway, we should finish ahead of them, theres no excuse not to.

Also have the tiebreaker with Philly. No time to panic yet.

And to think that Dalembert isn't having fun playing basketball in Philly right now. What is that cat smoking? The Sixers have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA during the 2nd half of this season and their future will only get brighter in my opinion. :confused2:

they have phoenix, detroit, cavs x 2 and wizards x 2, the rest are almost identical with ours. We still have detroit x 2 and NOK, so in terms of absolute strength, we have a weaker schedule. But they're playing unbelievably well these days, they'be beat detroit, boston, denver in their past 5 or 6 games. We've only beaten miami and seattle in our past 13 ... And you are right, there is no excuse, but I'm pretty sure it will happen anyway. And I'm very afraid of our games against teams like NJ/Atlanta or Chicago who will be in a dogfight for getting into the post-season. Yes, we have a 6-0 record against these teams so far, but that's even more reason for worrying, given that we've yet to sweep somebody in the east this season.

Ball Don't Lie 03-25-2008 02:50 PM

We have no trouble with Chicago, they wont be in any fight for the playoffs. Even Nocioni went off the deep end this week.

If we dont win the games vs them, ATL, and NJ then we dont deserve the 5th or 6th spot.

PHI will cool off soon, and DET will likely rest their starters in the last game vs us so that should be a win too(like last year, remember the AP shot?)

BballWatcher 03-25-2008 04:15 PM

Philly is smart for holding onto Andre Miller. They are a textbook team that plays hard, quite possibly because their best players (Iguodala, Dre Miller, Dalembert on D) got sick of losing. Not enough talent to go far in the playoffs but they'll at least be competitive before the inevitable choke factor in the playoffs since virtually nobody on that team has playoff experience.

Sick, Wicked and Nasty! 03-25-2008 04:39 PM

I see Philly like a more timely version of Portland and Houston... although not much better timing because they still have to sustain this another 12 games plus the playoffs, but it's a good story. They're playing way over their talent right now and it's a great story but we're a better team records aside.

philadelphia also plays detroit in one of their last games - so that would even out. I agree 100% that if we play well, we should get the 5th spot (even though I'd hate to play the cavs). But I just don't see it coming this year, we've never been consistent, every 3 or 4 games we have a lemon, and all it takes is to lose a couple of these "should win" games, and we're out. Because I don't see Philadelphia cooling off, they've been playing well the whole year, only recently started to win their close games. Remember that all of our games against them have been really close, and we've got lucky toward the end of games where they kind of melted. And Whasington have played very well, if not for those first few games with Arenas (losing first 5)and that nasty streak with Butler out (losing 8 or 9 games), they would be a lot higher in the standings right now. The worst thing that could happen to them would be the return of Gilbert, but apparently they are smart enough to hold on him until he's really 100% ...

Chicago's now only two games back of Atlanta for 8th.

M4ever88 03-26-2008 09:59 AM

I hope we play with boston
we can beat them

but detroit................noway

MangoKidHoops 03-26-2008 11:50 AM

In the end, I think we'll end up with the 6th spot and face Orlando - and this team shoudl be riding a wave into the playoffs - I think this is our best match-up in the first round.
