Default Warriors, Raptors talking Kyle Lowry trade

NBA rumors: Warriors, Raptors talking Kyle Lowry trade - FanSided - Sports News, Entertainment, Lifestyle & Technology - 240+ Sites

Sounds like pure speculation IMO but here it is.... no way do they pay the starting PG price we want so it sounds like pure bullshit.

Quote:
A few days ago, Yahoo Sports’ Marc J. Spears suggested the Toronto Raptors may opt to keep Kyle Lowry as they attempt to fight for the Atlantic Division crown.

However, with Greivis Vasquez, on the roster and Lowry set to become a free agent at season end, there isn’t much reason for Toronto to keep their feisty point guard if they can improve for the future.

That’s likely why they’ve reportedly been in trade discussions with the Golden State Warriors for weeks regarding a potential trade centered around Lowry:

The Warriors have been shopping for a backup point guard and have been engaged for weeks with Toronto on Kyle Lowry, sources said.
For what it’s worth, Yahoo sports says Toronto isn’t completely unsold to the idea of trading Lowry, but has stopped ‘auctioning’ him off to teams with Toronto’s improved play.

Golden State meanwhile is in need of a backup point guard and few fit that role better than the tenacious Lowry.

The 27-year-old guard is averaging 15.6 points, 7.4 assists and 4 rebounds in 36 minutes.

"likely why they've reportedly..."

yeah pure speculation. Lowry doesn't make sense on GSW's end given what we would want in return. It would be Barnes or no deal and GSW wouldn't give up Barnes for a guy they couldn't even afford to resign.

Barnes and Curry...

Masai completely pisses on GS.

Barnes or a future pick would be nice, although I don't like Barnes as a player he should have value as a young asset to flip in trades. Or I suppose we could use him and Ross together (yuck) if we decide to flip DeRozan as well or vice versa with Ross.

Barnes is just too slow for my liking.

the best pick we could get from GSW would be 2016 first if I'm not mistaking. They traded their 2014 1st to Utah, so they can't trade away 2015 1st

barnes isn't what you would call a playmaker, but he can definitely create his own shot. He's a great third option on a great team, so in that sense I don't see him as being that much different from DeMar aside from the fact he'd be more efficient. Having said that his usage rate isn't anywhere near DeMar's has been so that could change.

They have absolutely no need for him as they already have Curry. The won't give up a pick or asset like Barnes for possibly a 30-40 game rental player.

This is exactly why I wasn't high on Barnes coming out of UNC. I didn't see the agility, the explosion. Maybe he worked on his body, or he's taking advantage of a more open NBA game; whatever the reason, since the joining the NBA his explosiveness has been apparent quite regularly.

Can't see the Warriors parting with him for a Lowry rental.

Interesting scenario (not that I advocate for it) would be Amir/Lowry/Stone for Barnes/Lee

Amir would really fit that team, add some much needed defence as well.

I'd want a couple other of their rookie scale guys (Ezeli, etc) to make sending Amir and taking on Lee's horriawful contract worth it.

Even then...

Lee is a terrible defender, I would lose my mind if they essentially traded Amir for Lee, in part of a bigger trade.

I just like to ask a question.
Why do not we try to keep KL with this team ?
I mean, he guy is playing well, why do not we forget about the salary cap and do our best to sign him ?

Because we've seen Lowry for what, 3 seasons now and he's finally playing his best ball on his contract year(no coincidence). People seem to forget how average/below average he was and how injury prone he is. I'm not saying get rid of him for nothing, but if we get Barnes back then you take that and run
