Ujiri will try to sign him for what he's worth if Lowry wants to stay here.

Wouldn't mind this deal, but at the same time GSW have a better chance winning it all than we do and I want to see JO get an opportunity at a ring, while playing some decent minutes. If that trade happened he would be the 5th big off the bench simply because the current rotation that is playing now is playing great ball and you wouldn't want to mess with the chemistry. Rick Adleman supposedly loves Chuck Hayes, but the problem is getting a fair deal for both sides where the salaries would match. The only players would should be looking to get rid of right now are all the guys that are not playing.

Keep one of Stone or Buycks as the 3rd string PG. Which ever one we are not keeping move with Daye, Hayes and possible Fields (even though I don't mind Fields as he is a team first player). I'd keep Novak just cause if we ever get cold shooting 3's we can give him a few minutes to launch a few, plus he is a good team player as well.

NBA Trade Rumors: Celtics, Lakers, Knicks, Nets interested in Raptors Kyle Lowry - FanSided - Sports News, Entertainment, Lifestyle & Technology - 240+ Sites

Lol now its Celtics, Knicks, Nets, Lakers and Timberwolves.

Quote:
• In addition to the Lakers, Knicks and Nets, the Timberwolves, Warriors and Celtics are among the teams that have inquired about a deal with the Raptors for Lowry, league sources say. Raptors GM Masai Ujiri has been encouraged by the team's recent play, as Toronto has gone 9-3 since the trade with two of the losses coming against the Spurs But despite the Raptors' fourth-place status in the pitiful East, Ujiri is determined to take the long-term view. With the deadline less than seven weeks away, Ujiri is said to have multiple deals he could do for Lowry that would involve receiving an expiring contract in return or slotting him into another team's trade exception. Taking back future salary would come at a high price, i.e. a first-round pick.
huh? If that's it then let him play it out.

I'd love to see Crawford plucked put of Boston....would NOT have said that even this past summer but he has really turned into a nice pg.

The Lowry "WANTED" poster just got bigger

Lakers, Knicks Warriors among teams asking about Kyle Lowry trade | ProBasketballTalk

I told these folks to more or less shove it, and I don't even get to watch Raptors games.

Crawford is no Steph however that's where I see the expiring Lowrys value - at Crawfords level - unless a team gets desperate at the deadline. Even so, there will be no first rounder for him this year - or players like Barnes as suggested in the other thread. Absurdity.

The way Lowry's playing right now,the longer teams wait to make an agreeable proposal the more they'll have to offer near the deadline

The only reason i can see is if it's a larger contract, giving us even more capspace. Still makes little sense unless a prospect or pick is thrown in.

I don't think that's how it works...getting a larger expiring back wouldn't change how much money we have committed to other guys next season, so we'd have the same amount of cap space.

That doesn't work unless its an expiring that eats fields and novac or hayes as well. not too many 15-18 mil expirings out there.

traditionally in the past yes, but there are so many new variables in this case - ie.: new CBA and KL's value exceeding his current contract's extension amount - that may not bring what the past CBA might have netted a team.

Exactly. Most of our marquee players that we lost to free agency didn't leave due to the city. Bosh spent a ton of time here in the offseason, Damon called it his favourite city in the NBA, can't recall Vince being bitter with the city rather the organization. We lost players for a combination of reasons, but primarily losing. Plus, being an expansion team, none of our guys in the early years grew up dreaming of playing for the Raptors. The city itself isn't the problem.
