What's his win loss record? He's going to get in for a slam dunk competition and rookie of the year award?

Who's not letting him be? And how does he get into the hall for being an ok dude? Reggie Miller is top 14 in points and got passed over thus far. He made it to the Finals and had plenty of playoff success overall.

Yes, probably. Reggie's going in first.

Awwwwww-kward when his team is announced.

If you only count the games in which he actually played (not his teams' records), going into tonight his regular season record is 464-416.

Vince played 403 regular season games with the Raptors and 374 with the Nets.

He also played in 15 playoff games with the Raptors and 27 with the Nets.

So, it's really close (418 to 401), but I think he would probably be inducted as a Net.

Meh, we're just having fun.

The funny thing is, SJ, if you pay close attention around here during this year's playoffs, I bet you'll notice several users, including me, rooting for Carter to have good games because we want the Mavs to do well.

Carter is a big wuss. But he's a big wuss who I hope helps Dirk repeat.

I forgot the season he split with Orlando and Phoenix.

His overall regular season record is 502-451, if you count all the games from all 5 of his teams (Toronto, NJ, Orlando, Phoenix, Dallas).

If he has a choice, Raptors fans may have forced him to go in as a Net. Unlike, say Lebron. If he plays 5 years in Miami and then goes somewhere else, you still wonder what he would end up doing.

too talented and too good of a dunker not to get in
I think he's a lock to make it, and he would deserve it, looking back at all his achievements
And who knows, his career is not over yet, there may be rings in his future, especially if Dallas manage to get their hands on both howard and deron this summer ...

I doubt it
he became famous here and spent more seasons with us too.
Plus, nba would have more of an incentive to have a raptor in the hof, since we have none.

vince was a better all-around player than reggie. His stats dwarf reggie's and he was a better defender too, at least when he tried to. And he wasn't just a great dunker, he may have been the best or second best all time.

And for all his faults, he was the easy going type who probably didn't step on a lot of toes in his career because he wasn't competitive. So he probably has many friends and few enemies, which is significant. Reggie Miller was a little more abrasive I think.

I dunno, he never made it far in the playoffs and hasn't done anything, really, in the past 5 years. Also, I will always remember him for the Game 7 missed jump shot. Had to get his degree in the morning...

Some of this stuff is personal. I don't like the way he left town either. And he could have had a better attitude before his skills started to diminsh.

But let's not gloss over all of those all star selections, I think he blew away all others some years in voting. He also changed the game and the way people think about it in some measure in that dunk competition...became someone that helped sell tickets and get the NBA more attention. You also can't ignore what it takes to put up that many points under any circumstance. Adding the ROY means something too.

Thank you sir. I take it you claculated that yourself. I can't believe you can't just get a tally by googling Vince Carter win-loss record.

That's a mediocre record, with nothing much to show in the playoffs. He had a couple of attention-getting games in the Philly series that was ultimately lost, and that was only the second round. Had he done something to build upon that attention, then it might be more clear cut.

In any case - can someone point out a current inductee that had such a meh percentage of wins, especially without any notably outstanding seasons? If they are going to induct guys that consistently underachieve, based on dunking skills and popularity, then from what I've seen of past decisions, they will be shifting the criteria a fair bit.

Bernard King could dunk, was explosive, scored over 50 multiple times, scored 60 once, lead the league in scoring, was first team NBA twice, TNT analysts made him top 60 all-time, and he's not in the Hall. It's a more exclusive place than some people might realize, and one thing inductees have in common is contributing to some kind of team success.

Heh, i bet... it would be cool to see.

I just really know very little about the HOF, I don't pay attention. I was just talking about the anti-Carter that still happens. He might have not had the Kobe kliller spirit, but jesus, that was so long ago man... I just choose to remember the good years because those years.....holy shit they were electric to watch.
