That being said, when you have to play with guys like Hedo, Bargs and several D-league calibre players who aren't even in the league a year after they leave your team... well.... it's not hard to see why he was frustrated.

As I've said before... I won't ever hate a guy who played the game the right way and gave his all for our team. And when he was under contract to the Raps he did exactly that.

Ha-haaa!

I think there's a chance and a fit for VC coming back to wear purple at a lot less than John Salmons salary.

VC says he wants to play 2 more years.

Vince Carter wants to play two more years. Yes, in the NBA. | ProBasketballTalk

2014 numbers:

about 24 min, 12ppg, 5 reb, 3 assists, .413%, .379 3pt%

Deal!

It would take not much scoring to pass Barkley in all time scoring into about 23rd place by then.

Surely a few would never accept him again. But ironically, if he can come back contrite, and create some nostalgic warm fuzzies, it would be in his own best interests as a potential hall of famer because there would not be as much of a stain on his legacy.

I personally would love to have Carter back for his last few remaining seasons in the league, though I don't think it's going to happen though.

I'm not going to ignore the way VC left the team and how everything went down and I'm not sure how I would feel about him returning but if you just look at his current game you can't deny how he could be useful on this team given the right salary.
Personally for me, both VC and the franchise were probably both at fault with how his departure went off and I think if he were to return both sides should apologize to each other. I don't agree or buy into that special that Sportsnet did about a month ago trying to make the public sympathize with VC and make him the victim in what happened but I'm not going to say the franchise also didn't have any affect on what happened behind closed doors. I do think VC has to at least apologize for some of those blatant actions he pulled before he left. I'm not even looking for some elaborate explanation, I just want an acknowledgment from him that he had some general fault in what happened.
Even that fifth episode of open gym this season had a little too much VC love for me. But I do think that these VC specials are in some ways the franchise reaching out to him and kind of apologizing to him and that he should return something back.

I HIGHLY doubt he is even capable of contributing to the point where he can add anything to the current core/rotation.

I don't mind sentimental moves, but at the very least they should make sense.

I think he would be a great fit of the bench. He would bring nothing spectacular but some nice scoring, outside shooting and size at SG/SF for ~20 minutes a game. Also, don't underestimate the lessons he could pass on to Ross and DD.

And it would be awesome to see him in Toronto again, would allow everyone to heal finally.

You kidding? The guy is averaging 12 points a game and is contributing to a team that is on par if not better than us.

Trades are always a possibility. But as bench depth that can contribute.....

Bring Salmons back at 7 mil.
Carter at what? 3 mil?
Would Deng come here? Grainger? Marion? Kirilenko?

Team option on Salmons is 7mil. That's why I'm already looking in other directions for better deals.

Teach them how to fake injuries, not wanting to dunk anymore, tipping off plays to opposing teams and then getting traded for garbage? no thank you.

Dont think we really need VC anyways. The guy didnt even want to be part of our 15 year anniversary doubt hell want to come back. And even if we did bring it back its just so he could end off his career in a good way

I'm starting to think there is a master plan at work to bring back VC for the 29 yr anniversary and the throwback jerseys. Bet you VC is in on it as well. And Drake.

If it happens, we will set our franchise back 10 years.

On the other hand, it may be a first step to stop continually embarrassing ourselves and acting like snivelling bitches like the fans that booed Rudy Gay at tonights game.

I should re-iterate that I'm not actually a Carter fanboy. To use an analogy, you get fired from a job and you're pissed. But then later an opportunity comes up that would benefit you, but it involves the company that fired you. You can choose to lose out on principle and stay down, but should you?

We're a remote arctic outpost to some coming into the NBA and to some free agents. Carter conributed to the venom and that's where it started, but booing everybody and having a grudge against everybody is a terrible look. We look ignorant and outback and given a choice as a player knowing nothing about the place I wouldn't come here. Philly could have booed "practice" Iverson and L.A. could have booed "trade me now & I'm a rapist" Kobe.

Fact is, I don't know if Carter could be included in a ceremony to honour 20 years. We'd embarass ourselves by booing some old dude to humiliation and it would end up all across the continent.
The best part of our 20 year history ended the worst. The conundrum is that it still ends up a pretty empty anniversary celebration if you roll out Oliver Miller, Walt Williams and a postcard from Keon Clark in jail.
