Guy's a legend because of his basketball IQ and not because of athleticism. He does have balls of steel when making decisions though.

This is good because Sarunas is lowering the expectations of Jonas... unrealistic expectations. It's very psychological for a young player and if he's held to similar standards against a team such as Spain then it may negatively impact his confidence. Remember that the Czech game stats came in ~20 minutes of play.

Need more to see how play Jonas against real men, then we can say this is good pick.

Happens... Have one thing in your head, but say somthing completely out of space... Not a big deal. I saw so many priceless comments in my live, you wouldnt believe me.... Latest hit I saw, from RealGM, the guy got excited, because he thinks Enes will play with Deron Williams in Eurobasket. You know, Deron signed with "Turkey'' haha.

Back to Jonas. No doubt, so far so good. I dont wanna say hes the best in the draft, but I think no other rookie would look so good right now if he was in Jonas' shoes. Maybe Williams and Enes (complete blind guess). Jonas dominated every single game this summer so far.

According to bookies Valanciunas is almost sure to be in Lithuania 12 players squad. It's 1.09-6.10 in decimals (something like 1/10 to 6/1 in fractions). Funny, but I'm not so sure about it

Anyone know what other teams are saying about JV. Post draft, you think they are kicking themselves for not choosign him earlier?
ALLOT of hype with him so far this summer on this board. Are other boards paying attention?

Plus with the lockout, it looks like all the rookies won't be able to play the next season.

The main thing to take out of his performance is not his 26/11. But it's how he got those 26 points first off (9-10 from the field and perfect from the line). When he gains more muscle, 11 rebounds shouldn't be hard for him to grab with consistency either (in the NBA)

let's not forget this is against the czech republic. hes going to need to learn how to use his body to get rebounds. right now he's just jumping and reaching, and it's working because he's taller and longer than anyone out there. that's fine, and it will get him some rebounds in the NBA, but if the dominant rebounding is going to translate he'll need to learn how to get physical and play positional basketball. the muscle and athleticism is just on a whole other level in the NBA.

Dude he played against Russia today and had an impressive stat line... check out the Live JV thread

Btw he played against Mozgov and held his ground (aside a few inexperienced mistakes)

I'm very impressed overall so far. I didn't expect him to hold his ground. He's nowhere near a good NBA level defender yet. That's the big issue. But it's a skill thing, not a talent or effort thing.
If in 5 years he's not at Nene's level at the very least, it's either an injury or I have no clue about basketball. (which is possible btw)
