What i find hilarious is that now this shit comes out. But leading up until the draft NBATV said we'd be nuts if we didn't take Walker, everyone thought we should take Knight. Nobody was really saying Valanciunas should be our guy.

We are building a team now. Anyone who thought that we could get an instant game-changer at #5 in this draft was simply nuts.

In other news, and speaking of nuts - have you checked out Artest's new name? He would be a hit on Miss America, that's for sure.

Hahhhh, BC just said Bargnani is weak defensively and is an enigma. I hope Bargnani hears that and demands a trade.

For what it's worth, both NBADraft.net and DraftExpress.com had him going #4 to the Cavs.

I'm not hating on the pick. I'm just surprised. I woke up, saw the pick and scratched my head. Risky choice, Bryan.

im not sold either, im even surprised Donnie here is accepting it... i mean we have to anyways, its not like we can do anything. BC doesn't give a rats ass what we think. he makes a decision based on what he thinks is right...

i was listening to FAN590, Jack Armstrong likes this pick as well. At first he didn't like it but he said after some thought it could be what we're looking for: "Defense and Rebounding". we just have to wait and see

Obviously, not very many GMs thought that either Walker or Knight are going to be stars as PG. So I like Colangelo's thinking on this pick -- someone to protect the rim, who will be a terror on the pick and roll (which opens up a lot of easy offense). He is reported by everyone to be highly competitive with a great motor. With his length, he could be a real impact center, and those are very hard to find for a franchise. I also think that this is a great fit for the Raptors front line. Bargnani is not really a C, especially on defense. Neither Davis nor Amir can play C for any length of time. If Valanciunas develops offensively, he would be a fantastic complement to Davis, forming a fearsome defensive pairing for years to come. Even if he doesn't, he should be a very good rebounder and defensive presence complementing Bargnani. By the way, listening to Colangelo I got the sense that Bargnani might not be in the medium to long range plans of the Raptors. If he can be moved for an upgrade at PG or SF, then next year's draft could be used to round out the roster. I am glad to see that Colangelo had the guts to ignore calls for quick fix solutions and is thinking about building a champion, not just a playoff team.

Im pretty happy with this pick...We got the big that many experts consider to have the highest potential.

On top of that, from his videos you can see he is nothing like bargniani. He crashes the boards hard and actually plays like a C, not like a 7" shooting guard
