He will. And he is the main player in Lithuanian U-19 team, so if you catch the matches you should see plenty of Valanciunas for 1.5 weeks. I know links for livestream will be online. Btw official website now have Jonas on main page 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship in Latvia | FIBA.COM

Lithuania is playing USA today, its preparation u-19 tournament. Valanciunas might not be in optimal shape now, because he didnt get to train much with the national team. However if ayone is interested in watching it let me know, i can most likely post a link to watch it online BTW it starts at noon i think

LTU U-20 vs USA U-19, dont know which team did the USA brought over, but possibly not the best one available.. 44-20 in the 2Q.

One year in junior competitions means a LOT. USA u19 dominated last year, but was crushed by Russia u20 in friendly game. Same story here, nothing new...

Just funny fact, Lithuania u20 played against Lithuania u19 twice few weeks ago. Valanciunas played in the first game, and his u19 actually won. It shows possible u-1992 team dominance this year. This team dominated everyone so far and never lost a single game in Europe since 2008. Canada also has a nice team, gonna be a fun tournament.

I am sure it's hard to pronounce Jonas Valančiūnas for an english speaker. So, let's find an appropriate nick name for the kid. Could be Jonhnny the Wall:

1) Jonas = John. But Johnny sounds cooler, plus he still is a teen therefore Johnny is better than John.

2) Valančiūnas. Let's take the first three letters of the surname ("Val") and find the first most appropriate english word to represent him - the Wall.

Well, he could be just Jonhnny at the momet. The second part of the nickname (the Wall) he would earn later on - when added more strength and muscles

What are your thoughts?

Someone on RGM the nickname "JoVa". That way, we are the "JoVa's Witnesses."

Maybe even "Big V" since he's compared to Zydrunas. Either that, or J'Val McGee.
