Maybe we can grab Millsap off them?

Milsap for Calderon? Might as well try to get James Harden in a three way.

Not sure what Utah could offer us, but it won't be favours, milsap or Jefferson. Unless they're somehow high on Bargs too.

only if we can package Bargnani as well...otherwise, Jose is playing like an all-star at the moment, so i would hesitate to trade him even for Millsap. also, i don't think that Jazz would trade him either way.

They have plenty of bigs just waiting for playing time. I say we ask for Millsap for Jose, Bargnani. They can play Favors, Kanter and Jefferson while they wait for Bargnani.

Millsap for Jose is fair as of right now. We'd have to find a home for Bargnani for sure.

Either that or Jefferson, since we need a fill-in for C with Jonas out.

Who the fuck wants millsap? Hes an expiring and won't sign here. Jose is going to be traded in a package deal with Bargnani.

There'd be no point to getting Millsap, he's an upcoming UFA like Calderon. Maybe something like

Calderon
TOR 2013 2nd

for

Mo Williams
Lower of GSW/UTA 1st

Moves Toronto from the mid 30s probably to the 20-25 range

Or

Calderon, Kleiza

for

Mo, Bell

Dumps a 2013-2014 contract

Nope we don't make the deal unless we get Millsap IMO

Jose & Bargs

for

Millsap, Mo Williams & 6'6" PG Burks

Alec Burks Stats - Colorado Buffaloes - College Basketball

Even if we can't sign both Millsap & Mo Williams at least we pick up a PG prospect & we dump salaries.

I believe we could keep Millsap though he would be awesome at SF for us!

Have you guys even seen Millsap play? He's fuckin' good. Better than all of our PF's. So under-rated. He's not a SF btw. You guys love to think players like Josh Smith and Paul Millsap are great at playing the 3 spot lol getting kinda old.

I have to agree with you. Millsap is a classic PF. Not to mention if he did hypothetically play SF here there'd only be one consistent/decent 3 pt shooter in the starting lineup in KL or if another pg was here.

If we can get another team along with Utah and Dallas into a bidding war, that could really work well for us.

We're getting ahead of ourselves. This guy writes for the LA times and was just speculating before knowing how long Mo Williams will be out. Williams seems to think the injury is as when he fucked a ligament back in 2008, but, to my knowledge, an MRI has not confirmed anything yet.

Anyway, if the Jazz were actually interested in doing anything, they probably want to do it fairly soon, because they do it if they wanted to make the playoffs and the race is tight. If Williams is out for a while and they go on a losing streak, they will find it very difficult to get back into the race.

No way they do that deal. I alread pointed this out in another thread when another user proposed something similar.

The Jazz are a poor defensive team. They are 24th in defensive rating (points per 100 possessions). Taking Calderon is manageable, especially if Favours gets moved into the starting lineup to improve the D, but taking Bargnani AND Calderon? No. That makes no sense for them at all. It's not like the Lakers situation, where Kobe and Artest are guarding the perimeter in addition to D12 backing them in the paint. Utah does not have the players to compensate for both Caldy and Bargs. Taking both is a terrible move for the Jazz.

This is just making me sad that we have both of them.

Um he has played spot sf his whole time in Utah & he has been there starting sf for most of this season. He has enough speed to keep up with most sf's in the league & not to mention that he has expanded his game to the 3point line...

He is a hybrid pf/sf imo

Plus Utah does not plan to attempt to resign him because there front court is too deep.

Has he? I haven't watched their games. I just thought it would be common sense to put him as a 4. I don't think he can match up well against other dominant SF's, atleast any better than the ones we have. He's only made 11 threes this year, I wouldn't call him consistent from there. Either way, there's no comparison in which position he plays better. He's a natural 4. I think it's laughable if they have play at the 3 spot, other than situational ofcourse. Point is, if we get him, he's our 4 only.

Hayward would be a nice player to pick-up. He'd be the main player I'd be going after since favours would be out of the question. I like milsap, but he's a free agent and he's gonna get paid.

Also, milsap doesn't play small forward for more than a couple of minutes a game. He's a power forward who plays like a power forward should.

That's false. I don't know why you're saying that. Millsap started maybe 3 or 4 games at SF when they tried using Favours as a starter or Marvin Williams was hurt. But Marvin Williams has been the starting SF in 25 of their 29 games.

I'm not entirely sure you know the difference between an SF and a PF. Positions are not just based on height. You don't just look at the roster and see that Marvin Williams is taller and then assume he is a PF. I'm left to assume you did something like that.
