Assuming the top ten are the Celtics and a bunch of teams from the West, I'm not complaining.

blazers at 5 surprises me, and i definitely question whether or not dallas can still compete in the west...

15 for the raps seems about right, but i have to wonder why they are still using the barney logo...

Philly #7, Bulls at #25 and Miami at #17 are all surprising...

15 is a little low I think.

Philly is way too high and so is Portland.

I don't disagree with the Portland ranking. That team is crazy stacked.

I would get washington and Philly out of there. I dont like this lists, its difficult to judge teams with significant changes like To, philly...

But can all that talent play as one? That's still to be determined in my opinion. There could be alot of egos to manage there this season.

Blazers at 5 does seem like a stretch. Although I don't see any reason why Dallas can't compete in the west. Brining in Jason Kidd at the end of the season isn't a quick fix to all there problems like some people thought it would be. A point guard needs time to develop team chemistry and understand the players. Worst possible scenario the way I see it, they resigned Diop. They can go with a pre Jkidd lineup and bring him off the bench.

edit : we should all take into account that these are PRESEASON power rankings for a reason. Its all based on speculation.

i was just agreeing with the Raptors being 15th, some teams its hard to tell.

Ranking Portland based on potential as 5th is probably a mistake in the west tho, potential dont pay the bills baby, ask Bargs!! (oh wait, in his personal case, im sure it pays his bills).

Let's take a look at Portland. How many of those guys have improved year by year? You have Aldridge, Roy, Outlaw, Webster. Mix in a guy who was thought of to be a franchise centre in Oden, a guy who was supposed to be a sure-fire top 4 pick in Bayless, a stud in Rudy Fernandez.. I don't know.. that team looks awfully good. If you don't want to label them top 5, they have to be top-10 for sure.

So the Wizards,Trail Blazers and 76ers are better than the Raps?Hell, i even think we may possibly be better then Detroit and they're #6!And the Cavs and the Raptors will also be battling for 4-6 in the East, yet they are #7 and we are at #15.

U.S writers/broadcasters will never give the Raptors favorable chances unless we get Kobe and or Lebron.I just hope Bosh/OJ and company see this and get even more motivated going into training camp/next season.

Id give them a top ten.

But they still havent really proved anything.

How will Oden look.

How will they share the ball.

How will Roy be after the surgury.

How will Rudy handle the NBA.

1. Oden has been working his arse off. Remember, in his only year at OSU, he was playing with one good hand/wrist and was still a force. He'll be a double double guy for sure this year.

2. A lot of people wondered how KG-Allen-Pierce were gonna fit together. I'm sure the kids were paying attention. And Nate McMillan is a good coach, I'm sure he'll make everything fit smoothly.

3. Roy's knee was questionable BEFORE the surgery. I'm sure he will be better after it

4. Chances are, RFernandez won't even be a starter. And he's doing a solid job at the Olympics so far, so I'm sure he will be ready for the A.
