a three way trade where lakers get Calderon and a couple houston prospects, we get a prospect and houston gets gasol is very, very plausible.

jose, morris + 1-2 propects to lakers
delfino + a prospect to toronto
gasol to houston

I take Parsons!

Scratch that, I'd even take Patrick Patterson, he's good!
Rockets would do that if they got Gasol for PF.

you're not getting either, not for jose. It's basically delfino + somebody like machado, interesting prospect, but not a rotation guy. Lakers will get the good stuff, they're the ones trading the all star player.

Or, we could try amir + jose, that way houston only has to trade two prospects, but I can't see amir being of any interest to the Lakers, they need a spacing PF and patterson is a good fit there and he's cheap.

I would think the Raptors would be looking to upgrade at the SF and maybe get something at PG (blake), the Lakers would be looking for a starter-level PF, Jose and a prospect and Rockets would be looking for Gasol and try to avoid sacrificing too many assets.

Don't they have a guy named Nash who's coming back soon? lol Calderon will barely get anymore playing time there then he does here if Nash plays 30-35 min.

Also, Blake's out for a month and half atleast, so he's out of talks.

nash will play 25 max 30 mins per game, esp because of this injury.

dude, you're on the ball here. Maybe we add in Amir or Kleiza.... but we'd be lucky enough to turn Jose into Delfino and if we got Machado too, that's just added value

Is this a joke? We'd be lucky if we got Delfino for Calderon???? It's obvious how important Calderon is for this team and everyone in the league knows this. We can't give him away like that... He's still one of the better passing PG's in the entire NBA. Plus he's ready to step in as a starter on many teams...

I don't remember what miracles Carlos performed in his one year in T.O. but he can't be more than a decent first SG/SF off the bench. He's no solution at the three and barely an upgrade over Pietrus. He probably can't even guard the taller threes (6"6). And on top of that he's a pretty bad shooter.

I might be overvaluing Jose but Delfino is not enough imho... We shouldn't be that desperate.

you're undervaluing Delfino and overvaluing Jose.

Delfino returned after missing seven games and scored 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt) Saturday against Utah.

I just don't want our SF position to be a carroussel of mediocre shortterm solution swingmen that are okay but don't really make a difference, we have enough of those. Than we should've gotten Delfino right away instead of Pietrus.

If we'd trade Calderon it should be for a SF deserving of a starting job or a promising youngster who'll get there in time. Delfino is neither of those. I'd rather take Marvin Williams.

I prefer Casspi, who has a 4M QO coming up, but Delfino has a team option for 3M next year... reallly cheap considering what we're paying Kleiza, Landry.

Pietrus and Delfino is a better tandem than what we started the season with.

Besides, we could use some vet leadership on here, not another young player.

If we could get better for Calderon straight up he should have been gone a while ago.

Remember what Barbosa got us as an expiring.... a second rounder... let's not get too antsy here. You take a serviceable SF when you can get it...

Well then we're still on the same side regarding Casspi.

But I'm not sure every veteran automatically brings leadership. If guys like Gasol and Delfino get shipped from a good situation to a bad one, will they still give their best effort? Are they really committed to mentoring the youngsters or are they just sitting out what will likely be a miserable season and then move on as fast as they can? Losing often is unacceptable for these players, especially later on in their careers.

Calderon makes sense for D'Antoni. D'Antoni is a terrible coach and Calderon is a terrible PG. Misery loves company.
