They were a winning team without him. They have Korver, Jenkins, Carroll. Not big names but role players with clear defining skill that they are very good at, and they complement the rest of that team well.

I'd give Atlanta the edge, but I could easily see Toronto finishing just ahead or behind them. Both teams are going to need to rely on a strong team game to succeed.

They have a new coach - so they're a big wild card. If Drew was still HC it would be an easy decision for me. I change my vote for the Raps.

Since I'm on the fence, and leaning Atlanta based on proven success, I'll pick Toronto to balance it out.

Looking at that roster, could be a destination for Rudy...

Wow, almost a 60-40 split in favour of the Raptors.

Should be interesting to look back at this in a few months.

You do realize that not everyone on this forum is a Raptors homer...

I call it how I see it.

Didn't say that. Most of the people on here are Raptors fans. Bound to be bias to a degree whether it be large or little.

If it was us vs the Miami Heat/Chicago Bulls/Brooklyn Nets (or any other team thats clearly better than us) I dont think we would be having this discussion right now..

The Hawks are in the same league as the Raptors talent wise, maybe a little better, maybe a little worse.

Still doesn't explain how we're getting Wiggins AND finishing ahead of Atlanta

I can explain, or try to lol. People thinking: Current roster Vs. Atlanta= Raps win!
At the end of the season possible roster= Wiggins!

If we stick with the current roster people believe we're better then ATL
And to plenty they think a tank might roll up (due to roster changes) after the first month.... therefore Wiggins!

Shooting isnt even close. They have one of the biggest 3 point threats in the league in Korver, as well as Teague and Jenkins. Their main options are also good passers in Teague and Horford, which opens up not only 3 point shots, but good midrange shots for their bigmen who are expert midrange shooters(Millsap, Horford, Brand, Scott). Atlanta was 7th in the NBA in 3 point shooting last year, we were 25th.

Rebounding we were 3rd from the bottom, Atlanta wasnt much better at 23rd, but still better, and I think Millsap in being given more minutes will improve their ranking, though I think our ranking will improve as well. This may be a tossup.

Best player isn't arguable. Horford is easily the best player on the two teams.

Team chemistry I gave to ATL because their two main options have been playing together a few years in Teague and Horford, thus their offence should flow fluently, and Millsap fits into any system he's put in. They may struggle a bit on defence due to lack of height, but so will we, and I gave this more to ATL due to our terrible coaching and likely overuse of the wing ISO for our wings, and we'll likely see little ball movement and good offence over the course of the year due to the sets we run.

I'll take Schroeder, Jenkins, Scott, and Brand over our bench. I'd probably take every bench in the NBA over our bench.

^ Agreed, after watching Rudy and the bench so far in the preseason I'm leaning towards the tank honestly.
