Would do this is in a heartbeat.....it is a risk but the potential is high..JO is still relatively young...he easily fits more needs than TJ, Corey and Diaw. I would try to get a swap of picks with Indy though rather than just give up the 17th...

I like the idea of taking a risk and picking up JO - he simply addresses too many of the team needs to not consider it.
What I don't like is using the 3 biggest trading assets we have in one shot. It seems like a lot, even for JO. Swapping the first rounders would be ideal - if Colangelo could pull that off it'd be a coup. |

They get a starting PG (which they need),an expiring contract(Rasho),a manageable contract (Graham) and our pick. All that and we get a former all star who may or may not be a star again without at least swaping picks? I wouldn't sweeten shit!Swap or move on!! |

A swap of picks would even make it more of a no brainer in this kind of scenario. |

That's a pretty big if to give a team 3 players and a draft pick for. And he's been an allstar once in the last four years while missing 130 Games due to injury (is that worth 44 million dollars over the next 2 seasons).

Joey Graham continually being referred to as a "player" when referencing this deal is humorous to me. We wouldn't want to lose everything he brings to the squad, huh? Like donuts and gatorade for after practive. He's a water boy in a uniform, and his inclusion in this deal does nothing but make salaries match.
As for the 17th pick...guess what kind of player 17th picks usually end up being? Joey Grahams! Anyone who doesn't want to pull the trigger on this deal is seriously overvaluing our assets. Mark my words, whatever combination of players we do end up getting through dealing TJ and Rasho and using or dealing the 17th pick will be no better than Jermaine O' Neal. TJ's injury concerns are just as serious as JO's, Rasho is very average at best, and a 17th pick is going to have multiple holes in his game. Again I say, if you don't like the JO deal, present a better option. At this point, there isn't one. |
