UPDATE: Possible Pietrus for Graham & Dixon being worked on

His name mentioned again and apparently Doug's hearing the same thing. That being that BC and the Raps liking him. But at what cost?

As much as I dont like Delfino chucking, Pietrus is nearly as big of a chucker and his defence is MAYBE only a notch above Delfinos. Whats the point in getting him when we already have the argentinian version with a brain?

WOW, according the Marty Burns with CNNSI there might be a deal in place that would bring Pietrus to Toronto. :)

I'm a fan of Pietrus. I think a change of scenery would do some wonders for him.

Well as much as I hate commenting on rumours, I dont' think we're giving up too much in this deal.

Acie 02-20-2008 03:27 PM

Joey and Juan for Pietrus is fair. Anything more and I'd say no.

fancylad 02-20-2008 04:01 PM

i really hope this gets done. Something for close to nothing is how i see it. Petrius could fail here, but we're really not giving up much at all.

Such a sideways deal is very much like what BC did with Jones for Dixon. You have players who are not bad per se (although I happen to think that Joey will not play in this league past his current contract), they are just with the wrong team. Since cap implications are pretty insignificant for both teams, it's one of those "why not?" deals that are easy to make and that could just pan out. :clapping:

BTW, I completely fail to see why GS would want to do this deal other than to accomodate Pietrus. Maybe they want Graham to play an undersized 4?

Claudius 02-20-2008 08:45 PM

Mike, it would be the Golden State m.o. to play Graham at the 4, the play Harrington at the 5 in their run n' gun system. The one thing I would say though is whenever Graham has played the 4 he's produced so maybe G.S. sees something we don't?

Lets just ship our entire team for 12 international players to be named later :P I dont think this is a horrible deal since we arent giving up much, but i also dont think this would address our major needs and i think he is a slight upgrade to delfino at best.

INSIDER 02-20-2008 10:30 PM

i'd love this deal..
although i dont really care for pietrus, i do think he's an upgrade over dixon and graham... those guys rot on the bench... i think MP will give moon a run for his money and will create more competition...

Krazy Ivan 02-20-2008 10:37 PM

Dixon is unhappy & not very productive and Joey is... well he is Joey so I say anything we get for those two an upgrade... unless it's a trade with Knicks...
