holding onto him at this point is cancerous. The motive was to keep him away from that offer because we thought he'd get better, not worse.

Only if he gets moved to the bench or otherwise motivated to change his crappy attitude.

Lets not panic about Rudy Gay. If he opts in to that fat contract, he is an expiring next year. At worst, he gets sent to some team looking to clear enough space for their own "Big three". I've excluded us from this scenario because none of the major studs choose here, just the second and third tier. We could only build a "Medium three". Still hope Rudy gets shipped this year tho'. This is going nowhere.

Inadvertently, there's not a thing wrong with our tank. To games out of last place. If you have a weenie booth at ACC, I understand but I don't see any reason to try to climb back into 8th.

If MU isn't done evaluating yet, having Kobe treat us like a promiscuous Denver hotel employee on Sunday should do it.

I had a thought.
Can't we just tank like hell keeping everybody we have?
Get the pick and grab Wiggins anyway.

Doesn't work like that unfortunately. It's not about just one pick. It's about asset accumulation. Getting multiple picks and/or young picks is an asset. Getting financial flexibility is also an asset. The only time financial flexibility should be hindered is when salary comes back in a deal but it comes along with a first round pick. Also - not to mention - KL expires this year. Getting picks while taking on longer salary is something this franchise hasn't done when it should have instead of having fake or extremely limited flexibility for FAs who are undesirable or don't want to come here.

I get what you're saying, and at the rate we're going it does seem possible but:

1) This is Colangelo's team atm, not Ujiri's. Trading guys like Demar and Gay allow Masai to build the team how he wants

2) trading your best players always add a few losses to the loss column. And that never hurts (see 2012 draft with Ross over Barnes.)

Can anybody explain, what draft pick Raptors could get in the best case scenario?
Just watched a few Marcus Smart videos, heck,he can be as good as Lillard or even better. Really a good option after Parker and Wiggins.

Can someone tell me who believes the recent trade has made this team better explain how so??

We got not one player that can go clutch consistently in the 4th and we still got casey ?? Unless you can prove me wrong that this team will head to the play offs this year then all the power to you.
