Marion would never sign for the Vet minimum, no way! This sounds like total BS and 5yrs/50Mil for Hedo is way too much. I say stick with Marion or S&T trade him for 1-2 players.

Turkoglu wasn't part of the deal for Carter, but his fate in Orlando became clear when the Magic traded for Carter. Turkoglu earlier this week notified the league that he was opting out of his contract to become a free agent.

He is expected to be seriously pursued by Toronto, Portland and Sacramento. He is seeking a five-year deal worth an estimated $10 million annually, which is more than the Magic were willing to pay.

With the NBA's free-agent window about to open next Wednesday, the Raptors must be prepared for all possibilities, and no doubt they are.

There has been talk about a sign-and-trade, which can be best engineered by using an agent as the conduit.

In Marion's case, the agent in question is Dan Fegan, one of the best in the business, who also represents Kris Humphries and Evans.

What the market will bear for Marion isn't easily defined, though.

Marion can shock everyone by signing for the veteran's minimum, in his case approximately $1.3 million, for a chance to win an NBA title.

As good as he would look in Toronto, imagine Marion lining up in Orlando alongside starters Jameer Nelson, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard.

HAHA At this point in his career I doubt he is looking for a championship. I think he wants some money and maybe when his contract runs up then he'll loook into signing the vet minimum

Marion doesn't strike me as someone willing to sign on for $1.3M and leave another $6M for that year on the table. He's rich, he doesn't need that extra money but damn, its six million dollars. No one at his age and at his level has or will ever do that.

Marions said numerous times hes out to get the money and be a main option type guy for the team hes on. Hes not a guy who will take less money and play less of a role to win big at this point. His head hasnt been in the right place since he got the notion that he was Phoenixs forgotten man.

If we get Turkoglu longterm for near that kind of money Im going to be so angry

IMO we need one of Marion or Hedo. Odom won't end up here.. so who's left? Unless we get a good SF in a Mrion S&T.

Good player and everything but if his team where he helped get them to the finals does not value him at $10M/yr. why should we take the risk? Please BC don't mortgage the house on another single trade. We have too many holes to plug and only so much to spend.

This vet minimum of $1.3M is garbage talk, we all know what Marion said at the end of the season "I have to be Selfish" I doubt him or his beloved Dan Fegan (agent) will leave $5M or $6M on the table to get $1.3M and play for a contender.
The only team that has the highest percentage of winning again is LAL and they are stacked at the wings (even a Vet's minmum is too much to spend for LA).
It would be really great to pass on a $7M deal for the vet minmum to go play for a contender like Boston and then end up loosing in the play offs.

Truely with Cap space its the Raptors that have got options not Shawn. He has only one of three:

a.) accept our deal $6m-$8m/presumably 3 years (the best offer on the Market).
b.) accept the mid level as the norme and play for other non competitors.
c.) take the vet and play for a contender.

Trevor Ariza BC, has been looking for a younger version of marion...he may have found one that is cheap

I don't know, surely Marion is a better fit for the team, expecially on d, but i like Hedo a lot, and when Jose is on the bench i would prefer to give the ball to Hedo for creating games instead of Roko.
Obviously all depends on how much he asks.

Yup. If you're talking bang-for-your-buck I think Marvin Williams is one of the better options out there. Williams has a ton of talent just waiting to explode.

Don't forget about Ron-Ron though.

No they're not great, but it's possible to get away with a lack of handles at the three. Shawn Marion is a perfect example.

yeah I guess but if you mean explode as in drop anywhere close to 20 then i totally disagree. Marion dropped 20 because he was feeding off of nash not because he was playing the 3 instead of the 2. I wouldnt mind Marvin Williams, but at the right price ofcourse.

If the Raps are thinking about signing Marvin they'd probably be looking at something in the neighbourhood of 5.5 - 6.5 a year. He'd be a nice investment.

ariza isn't that good he's mediocre. could he be a good fit here i don't know. but, he's not gonna be cheap and he'll probaBLY return to l.a. anyways.

taking the risk of just letting marion go with out even s & ting is just way too dangerous for the raps right now.
