Uneventful Trade deadline day the norm in Toronto

Other then 2001, the Raptors have never had much of any impact deals on deadline day. Unbelievably uneventful!

BC has made one deal every year he's been here...so it might be a good one this year :D

Agreed, but this year I don't mind going into the stretch run with the status quo...

Acie 02-12-2010 03:33 PM

Well, from '03 through '06 we weren't a playoff bound team, so there was no need to add a piece or two to make a push.

osamu 02-12-2010 03:47 PM

:sigh:

osamu 02-12-2010 03:50 PM

its annoying to go on realgm and see that teams are going after butler and haywood and are offering little to nothing. If any of this has credibility, it just makes me wonder what the raps are doing. Im not saying they are doing nothing JEFF, BC is known to keep us in the dark.

Beesh 02-12-2010 04:49 PM

well then we wouldnt want break the streak lol

Real GM is almost as bad as Raptors Forum for trading nothing and getting all stars in return.

POB is amazing. How can you say that trade deadline was uneventful. We got possibly the greatest player of our generation on our team

You never know, I do not take recent silence in the rumour mill that no move will be made. It isnt about playoff runs or whatever, its about making moves that make your team better. BC does a pretty good job at this and I see him doing at least something if the opp. comes up with teams trying to cut salaries (which in my opinion is a stupid thing to do salary = talent).

part of being a good negotiator is giving away as little information as possible while trying to gain as much as possible.

balllife 02-12-2010 08:03 PM

yaa but dixon was a good impact on the second part of the 06-07

Beesh 02-12-2010 08:45 PM

08- brezec..wow i forgot about that guy. What happened to him? I thought he was gonna be a heck of player. He was a center that could shoot, drive, play good defence.

Brezec Player File. Signed with 76ers, played 7 games this year

BballWatcher 02-13-2010 10:47 AM

Dixon wasn't bad for us for half a season (11 ppg!), and he was a monumental upgrade from Fred Jones.

CobraKing 02-13-2010 11:56 PM

Well Butler & Haywood are off the market. The rest of the available trade-able players aren't so hot. It might be better to wait till the offseason instead of messing with the chemistry now. Besides the Raps are more than a piece or two away from being a championship caliber team.

Ball 02-13-2010 11:58 PM

Sonny Weems and Marco Belinelli for Iguodala.

lol

Oh and throw in POB too

I would say 2 pieces (the right pieces) away!

rapsmannn 02-14-2010 02:20 AM

well one thing for sure is BC will make a trade,

I think he does hoping he'll hit 1 guy that will go lights out,

adding a valuable asset for nothing, but hay can't hurt none even though the odds are like 99 to 1

Really, where do you get that idea? There's no point in making a minor move unless POB is dealt, and even then. And a larger move including Jose let's say, would likely have to be a 3 team deal. I'm finding it extremely unlikely he does anything because it seems to me that there isn't a no brainer deal out there, which it would take for him to make a major move that included Jose Calderon, breaking up our current depth at PG.
