You want a young asset for an expiring.

Exact?

THJ is a good shooter, but TR shits all over him when it comes to defense.

blasphemy

truth is, a lot of these articles are NY media trying to create some buzz. At this point, a protected 2018 pick is not worth lowry, expiring or not. And now they way to get teague for that, let's be realistic. Unprotected pick, maybe.

No thanks.

Its not an asset worth acquiring when it comes at the cost of team chemistry, and is redundant for the team because we already have that position filled.

THJs value would go down because he wouldn't get the same minutes here, and if he did they would come at the expense of Ross so it's an unattractive scenario.

We do? Whatever happened to having depth? Salmons will most likely be gone in a couple months, beyond DD/TR who do we have on the wing?

It won't matter who we have on the wing with Vasquez as our starting point guard.

I'd rather ride the season out with Kyle and take our chances come free agency.

Not a fan of trading Lowry unless we get something significant in return. I believe we can re sign him in the summer. Unless its teague and a good pick. That still makes me meh on the trade and something I would pass on

I realy think that if Uijiri manages to get Teague for Lowry somehow, he will take that every day. Think about it, getting a PG Teagu's caliber for 8 mill a year for 3 years, you just can not get that in the NBA at the moment any other way. In other words, even if we were to keep Lowry and resign him, he will not be less than 11 millions a year. So my question is, what do you prefer for the next 3 seasons:

Lowry for 11 mill /year (at least) or Teague for 8?

By the way I think that if we give Lowry up and get Teague, we still can have a good run for the playoffs this year

Lowry for 11mil all day. Teague is not a great 3pt shooter and isn't the rebounder/defender Lowry is. Teague is pretty good but i'm not that high on him.

No way Lowry gets 11mil anyway, mark my word on that.

Considering Jennings got what he got it's not impossible. Granted, I think the only suitors for Kyle will be the raps, the magic and maybe LAL.

I am not saying Teague is better than Lowry, what I am saying is that securing a PG with his abilities for 8 mill a year is not easy in the NBA right now.

I am also saying that even when I would prefer our team as it is now with Lowry rather that Teague, i honestly do not think that we will either win or loose many more games if we were to switch to Teague

My question to the forum is everything else being equal:

What would be the impact (in terms of wins and loses) of switching to Teague right now compared to sticking with Lowry?

I don't understand why would we ever consider trading kyle? It made a ton of sense when we were trying to tank in december, but now? Isn't he a long term building piece? Are we going to trade all players who are about to become free agents because we afraid losing them? Or because we're afraid they'll get hurt?

Only three scenarios could prompt me to trade him:

1. an offer I can't refuse (which is almost certainly not going to happen)
2. a clear signal from him/his agent that he doesnt' want to be here
3. indications from his camp that he expect an insane offer, way above what I feel is fair

Yes, it's a risk to keep him. But I don't see Miami exploring trades for lebron because they're afraid to lose him (which I think it's more likely than lowry leaving - if they lose to Indiana and wade hobbles in the process, he's going to seriously consider leaving I think).

You did not answer my question. if you look at the situation form a practical point of view, I ask again: If we trade him for Teague, would we lose many games we would have won had we not done that trade?

I don't think Lowry will be traded, and I don't think he will be back next year either. I can see MU doing a tiny trade to grab another piece. Not more than that.
