Ataf 12-05-2013 04:37 PM

Doesn't really tell which direction. :( I mean we can debate which side his comments make it seem, but what's the point..?

Wont know till a move comes along.

Kriz 12-05-2013 04:38 PM

HE obviously aint telling his secret plan.

numbah eleven 12-05-2013 04:39 PM

Doesn't sound too articulate.
Well, good luck tanking for another five years. Hah.

firecasey2013 12-05-2013 04:45 PM

not gonna download but I bet he'll pull some magic to get a draft spot.

That definitely would make sense!

If we keep losing at this rate everyone knows MU will be doing a rebuild. Try to acquire another 1st rounder for this upcoming draft and build from there. Even though I have constantly showed much support for DD, Amir, Ross, JV and Psycho T, no one on this team should be listed as untouchable. The only player I really want gone is Gay, and if Detroit made that offer of Stuckey and Charlie V again, I would probably take it because we probably aren't going to get a better offer for Rudy with the way he is playing. Even if we had to throw in Ross and a shit player like Gray or Augustin to get their 1st rounder for this draft, I'd do it.

Little faith in this man.

Ujiri said chemistry is a key issue for any team and although Dwane Casey is doing his best, he is limited because of the way the roster has been constructed.
This is incredibly disappointing to read.

Hes not gonna badmouth the coach to the media. He has to be supportive even if that isn't what hes really thinking. Honestly I don't take this news as anything of relevance, when talking to the media people just sugarcoat everything. Until I see some trades or firings happen I won't be convinced.

Deez 12-05-2013 07:56 PM

If he came out to calm the masses, objective not accomplished.

However, he can't say much...

Can't have players totally distracted wondering what's coming or if they'll be shipped to Milwaukee.

Can't have the coach totally ignore young players to save himself.

Can't start a media feeding frenzy.

Can't allow leaks and mess up the trade talks you have on the go.

Can't allow a culture of panic.

Also, saying you won't be caught in no man's land says clearly you won't end up in 9th/10th netting nothing for you pain. What else could he be referring to?

Carlos Danger 12-05-2013 08:20 PM

Based on the fact that he can say very little, this short article is pretty telling of what he's thinking. Mentioned bad chemistry and having the wrong parts together.

This whole waiting game of his is getting old, pick a direction already or you are going to do the exact opposite of not getting stuck in no-mans land.

I honestly don't like Ujiri so far, and haven't liked the way he's gone about it since he was hired, make up your mind, by the time you finally do it's going to be long too late.

First, at the beginning of the season it was "Wait and see". Now it's "Don't worry! We won't be caught in treadmill land" Yet so far that's where were headed, and given the years and years of shitty management, I'm not going to feel confident until he actually starts giving a direction.

Sucks to be so negative, I know. But this team has never ever made any right decisions, and so far it's looking to be repeating to me. I mean it when I say that if we finish 9th, 10th, 11th again and middle of the pack and treadmill land at the end of the year, then I'm pretty well done watching this team, because this is getting unreal

rapsmannn 12-05-2013 09:47 PM

top 5 pick is needed otherwise where in no mans land,

not sure what you and others who make similar comments expect? You want ujiri to come out and say the coach or player X suck? That we are going to rebuild so teams looking for steals can low ball us in trade offers?

Honestly, this interview seems too direct as it is, I mean not getting stuck in no man's land when there's clearly very little that can be done to get better in the short term, can only mean one thing ...

and if we tank, it's almost guaranteed that casey won't get fired and may even be extended if he can prove he can develop talent (the most important skill in the next season or two).

Dude, we are 3-4 games out of dead last in the east...while still being a game out of the top of the Atlantic.

He has time still to pick a direction to go in....

Hopefully he choses the Tank which i think he will

I spose tanking is still an option, but it's more due to luck that the east has been utter garbage. Theres no way in hell he turns this team into a legit winner, it's pretty obvious by now. We also won't be anything but "caught in no man's land" if we try to win, because we can't without a massive overhaul, I assumed that was obvious by now.
