Ujiri looking to trade into the draft?

Quote:
Draft scuttle: Raptors currently have no picks but I'm told they intend to acquire at least one by Thursday night. Second-rounder at worst

This is the kind of thing I love to hear about. A GM being aggressive and concentrated on what he wants to do. Ujiri sees this is a young team without a draft pick, so he decided he wants to acquire a pick and decides to stick with it, since he's confident in his organization's ability to find talent. Maybe there are a few teams willing to give up a mid - late first for a future second or two to avoid the cap hold?

EDIT: If we get a late 1st to early 2nd + like a mid 2nd, we could draft a shooter like Tony Snell or Glen Rice III, and then take Kabongo around like the 40th range or maybe earlier.

I could see Hawks or Blazers doing it, maybe Sixers. Probably OKC too since they already have like 4 players on rookie contracts and that 29th pick is guaranteed cash.

We would only find out after the pick, though.
It will be intriguing to watch and wait for trade announcements.

Gorgui Dieng | NBADraft.net

Kenny Kadji | NBADraft.net

Probably a couple guys that Ujiri has been following a lot the last couple years

we do actually need a couple of bigs, bargnanis getting dealt and we dont need someone that can "space the floor" but that can rebound to compliment amir and jonas

New GM

...'maybe' things will be different ... we all knew that Colangelo was just a talker, maybe when Ujiri makes claims he will actually follow through, impossible to know yet.

...or maybe it is just the media desperate for a story, as always.

We've been in the draft for the past 4 years with a pick, since when did you hear that we were gonna trade into the draft where we haven't had a pick?

Yeah, BC gave away 2nd rounders whenever he could-like how he gave away a 2nd rounder for an expiring Telfair who rarely played :mattyd:

I am firmly on the Dennis Schroeder bandwagon. He has all of the tools to be a very good PG in the NBA. The only catch is he's stuck with his German team next year, but I think we can afford to wait.

Not really with Dennis.. Can't shoot, pass, score or handle the ball well it seems.. he can defend and has (arm) size to do it... eventhough he's about 170 lbs (That's what i got from jeff's vid lol but I don't know much about him..)
