Raptors Uhhhhmmm, i think Telfair is bitter

Quote:
"It sucks for me," Telfair said of how it felt to be traded. "I feel like I've done everything they asked me to do. I've been professional. I just don't see how with all the guys on the team we have and the way the season went, how does making the Suns better by trading me right now. I understand Kendall had to get an opportunity to play but (expletive) this is a man's league. You've got to be able to just compete. You've got to be able to be competitive with your teammates and other guys. I think I brought that to the table and I was cheated out of that."

Despite losing his job and the mounting losses the team was enduring, Telfair not once considered or even asked to be traded. He wanted to stay on even as he was racking up one 'DNP-Coach's Decision' after another.

"I think I proved myself at the end of the season last year where I could be a guy that could be trusted to be out there on the floor and then they go draft Kendall," he said. "I guess I was the last one to know. I should've been packing my bags already last year instead of coming back and doing what we did."

The disappointment in Telfair's voice is telling.

"I'm bitter," he said. "I'm a little bitter. I don't have nothing personal against (my former teammates), love them guys but I'm bitter. I'm a little bitter. For one, I got to pick up and leave my family, my kids. Forget the business part of it, I've got to leave my kids home, by themselves now and I'm all the way in Toronto so (expletive) yeah, I'm bitter.

I didn't expect to hear that from him. But, it makes sense, who wants to leave their family and home for a team that isn't much better. Also, to be in a situation where he's not likely to stay past the seasons end. Crappy deal for Telfair, but that's business

Shut up, man up and make the money. Millionaire crybaby? This team needs you to take the spot.

I really thought he was playing well backing up Nash. He really was doing everything they asked of him as he said in that quote, he played solid defense and then took care of the ball on offense and it looked like he was ready for a bigger role. Then they make Dragic their marquee player (who Telfair outplayed tonight) and draft a rookie pg (who Telfair outplayed tonight).

Did he really think he was the future of the Suns at the point? The dude will always be a back-up at best.

I agree and to add, I didn't realize how fast Telfair was....man that cat was ripping from one end of the court to the other, and those steals he made....impressive

awwww mufffin, he's been cheated..... but i did like his aggressiveness last night attacking the basket and distributing, keeping the flow on offence. His very quick on his feet as well on defense which is good to see... now do this against better teams

8 different teams since 2004. This guy has been fighting and fighting to stay in the NBA and he finally felt he got it together with a team and gets shipped out. I could understand why he is bitter.

He should be glad his hard work has at least kept him in the league.

Hopefully he continues to play well and provide some structure to our horrible bench unit. Sadly, Casey will probably bench Lowry in favor of Telfair and cause another rift at the PG spot.

I highly doubt that. I'm more scared of telfair to be benched still for lucas, even though he played great last night. I hate watching lucas play.

At the very least Telfair looks like he has a desire to get the team involved and keep it from becoming an isolation chuckfest.

Lowry is our PG. I don't see ST taking his spot, I ST will even be here next year, to be honest.

oh I know. I want him starting over lucas any day too. but I swear lucas and anderson have something on casey, or maybe casey promised them both dominent bench roles early on and is too weak to go back on his word
