I am a fan of Tyreke Evans. However his style of play is conducive to losing basketball. Iso iso iso no jumpshot and a me first approach to the game. I don't think he would fit into a winning system and you need to build your system around him.

Yeah Tyreke needs to take his game to another level or his style is definately conducive to losing basketball. He isnt an efficient enough player to be going to him on isolations as often as he needs to be somewhat effective on the court. He really needs to improve his jumpshot and his decision making off the dribble to become a top level SG. I'd consider trading Droz+filler for him at this point, but wouldnt ever consider playing them together, itd be ugly. Tyreke has a higher ceiling than Droz

If he turns in to good Reke and not the last 2 years Reke sure, but in that case, again, we're best off dealing DRoz since neither are good outside shooters. And we'd be killing DDs value by bringing him off the bench.

These Evans lineups either turn us in to contenders, or we'll all absolutely hate Evans because he would destroy our offensive rhythm and passing in a lineup that should be passing fantastic. I think it'd be the latter. He's too big of a risk unless we get him for cheap.

Yeah, you have a point. I mean, if he can somehow start to hit the three ball and be a little less selfish he'd be great here but who knows ultimately. At only 22 i think he can be a special player, but it's far from a garantee. It would be a risk and that might not be the way to go when we need more established players with less issues. I would prefer us going after a player like Courtney Lee if we're going after a SG.

I'd much rather throw the farm at Gordon and then figure out what we're going to do with Derozan after(or before, in a genius type move where the deal is in place and BC would just be waiting to have Gordon sign on the dotted line).

I think we need to get at least one of Lowry/Dragic/Nash/Gordon this offseason.

My dream offseason would be Lowry and Gordon. But thats obviously just a huge dream. Thatd be too awesome.

My dream would be one of Dragic/Lowry/Gordon + Batum. But that's a real massive pipe dream.

I think that we'll end up with something that resembles Dragic, Ilyasova, Pietrus.

I want no part of Ilyasova unless he's coming in with a defined role of off the bench SF/PF 6th man. And to do so, we'd need to deal Davis/Kleiza/Johnson. I dont think its possible. I dont want to sign him with the idea he's going to be a starter, because he isnt a starter.

The complete Toronto Raptors roster and Air Canada Center for Tyreke Evans. They might not have a real use for any of our players but they can certainly use a new arena, they've been trying to get one for the past twelve years or so....

Sure, Tyreke hasn't showed the progress that is expected out of him but, the Kings have been a mess. Complete lack of stability, constant chemistry, coaching and arena(relocate or not?) issues have definitely affected his development.

Of all the players that might be available(not including the actual superstars), I see Tyreke as the only guy with real star potential.

This is so hilariously arrogant and presumptuous - setting conditions for a player to sign with the team and totally ignoring why in the first place he would even consider signing with such a pathetic shitty team. Yeah, I'm sure there are so many good FA's that'll want ever so desperately sign with a bottom-of-the-barrel team whose best players are a one-dimensional PF and a SG who can't shoot that the team will be ever so able to be selective in who it signs. Such balls you have to presume TOR will actually have the leverage when it comes to talking to FA's.

"Hmm," Goran Dragic will ever so undoubtedly be asking himself in the offseason, "Should I sign with perennial playoff team DAL (if they don't get D. Williams) or should I sign with perennial bottom-feeding TOR. Wow, that's a toughie!" "Hmmm," Ilyasova will ever so undoubtedly be asking himself, "Should I sign with perennial playoff team BOS who'll need a big with Garnett off the books next season, or should I sign with perennial bottom-feeding TOR. Wow, that's a toughie." Yep, I'm sure tons of awesome FA's will have TOR at the very top of their list of potential destinations this offseason, following the trail blazed by such ever so upper-tier FA's as Jamal Magloire, Aaron Gray, Kleiza, R. Butler, etc. Yep, everyone wants to play with TOR, so Ilyasova, you better not not want to be a starter if you want to play with us. No sir, we have conditions if you want to sign with us....

You dont think when players sign, that the GM talks to them about what they expect from them, and what their likely role will be?

Ilyasova is the definition of a tweener. Signing him to be a starter for this team with the contracts we already have would be a horrible move any way you look at it. I dont see how you could argue this. He isnt a good fit unless we make room for him. We're already paying Johnson/Kleiza to play the role longterm. Signing Ilyasova would lock up more money in to a spot we already have covered and would handcuff us longterm.

Unless we're planning on becoming the next Hawks with the tweeners, and treadmill team, then we should go ahead and sign Ilyasova.
