Exclamation Turkoglu takes a shot at Raptors, Colangelo

Quote:
New Phoenix Suns forward Hedo Turkoglu took aim at his former team, the Toronto Raptors, and their general manager, Bryan Colangelo, this weekend.

“People have to realize something is wrong with that organization and nobody wants to go there any more,” he said in a phone interview from Turkey, where he is captaining the Turkish national team at the World Championships. “It’s not just the players who see this.”

Quote:
Turkoglu insisted Bosh was a good teammate.

“It’s funny that people will talk behind your back,” Turkoglu said of Colangelo. “If he was feeling this way, why not have the guts to say it during the season? Why not say it to Chris? Now that Chris has left, it’s not nice to say those things.

“Chris has been a franchise player and he did a lot of good things for the Raptors,” Turkoglu added. “I don’t think Chris is the type of player to quit on his teammates.”

Turkoglu had his own issues with the Raptors. A year ago, Toronto signed him as a free agent, believing his versatility was the missing piece to creating an Eastern Conference contender. The year before, Turkoglu helped the Orlando Magic reach the NBA Finals, where they lost to the Lakers.

But Turkoglu quickly fell out of favor in Toronto, facing criticism for being out of shape and unmotivated.

His former agent and the Suns’ current president of basketball operations, Lon Babby, said Turkoglu never got his legs under him in Toronto after a long postseason run and a summer spent playing for the Turkish national team in preparation for this year’s World Championships.

Turkoglu added that the chemistry in Toronto was never right and the Raptors never used his talents properly.

“I don’t have to talk any more about it for me because it’s past now,” he said. “I don’t care any more what people say about me because I’ve got other things to worry about.”

But Turkoglu was clearly miffed by Colangelo’s comments.

“I just don’t understand why you would say these things,” he said. “Like I said, that organization has problems.”

When told of Turkoglu’s comments, Colangelo refused to engage in a war of words

“Toronto is a world class city, the Raptors are a terrific organization and we have tremendous basketball fans that recognize and appreciate hard work and a commitment to winning from management and players alike,” he said.

“I still consider Hedo a friend in this business and wish him well again in Phoenix.”

I can't really argue against what Turk said. He has a point and it's the same thing people have been saying the entire year. The Raptors didn't use him the right way at all. And let's face it, MLSE is more into making money than putting a winning product on the floor. Besides, it's easy for us to accuse Turk of all this here say and being a bad teammate but we weren't there during the meetings and practices. He has a first hand experience. It's not as if he's the first person to call out the team. It's time for a revolution. The corporate pigdogs have got to go. We need a singular majority owner who gives a ratsass for a change.

Coming from an overweight, lazy, douchebag athlete this means nothing. Besides if no big names want to come to Toronto, why did Turkoglu come? Im pretty sure he considers himself a lot better than he really is. Its funny how people will talk behind your back? Thats what Turkoglu has been doing in Turkey because hes too scared to do it in Canada! I like how Colangelo didn't need to talk shit back about Turkoglu because Turkoglu's play and unproffessionalism spoke for itself. Screw all the Bosh criticizing threads, Turkoglu was much worse for our organization. Bosh gave us 6.5 good hard working years. Turkoglu didnt give us one hard working game that he should have brought in his monster contract. Turkoglu says we didnt use his "talents" right. A good basketball player will find a way to be effective when taken out of his role and will help teammates. He will not give up, get drunk and get fat. He should have at least shown some effort. I will not boo Bosh, but I will boo Turkoglu. I wish the Suns and Steve Nash a miracles o Turkoglu plays well at power forward and demands less ball. Its such a shame Turkoglu will ruin Nash's chances of winning a ring. At least Nash will then demand a trade to either Toronto or NY!
When Turkoglu comes to Toronto, we should make a thread about how to bo him! Im thinking PIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZA or FAT ASSSSSSSSSS or just do the good ole fashion BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOing.

mmmmmhmmm

i'm not surprised that turk would call-out bryan's professionalism after he leaked the night club incident to the media.

but

i bet BC doesn't look as bad when turk is calling in sick to games and partying at night while chris was quitting on his teammates.

He said that in Phoenix's press conference aswell.
If you don't want to talk about the past, then don't.
Talking about Bosh and BCo is certainly not your future, Turkeyglu.

We offered Turk more money than anyone else. That's why he came.
But I do agree. Bosh did do a lot for this organization.

Then again, so did VC.

VC was more of a jerk than Bosh at the end of his career. Turkoglu didnt give us any effort whatsoever. Carter showed effort for quite some time. I boo Carter for like the first 5 minutes, I will boo Turkoglu the whole game. He screwed us over. If he wouldve played with effort, even if he ddint come, I believe we would have been a better team.

Bosh really did care about Toronto for all those years so I say give him a pass, and give him an ovation and what-not. As for Turk and VC.

It's gunna be fun!

honestly what did Bosh do?

seriously think about it, lebron James gave more to the Cavs in his first year in the playoffs than Bosh gave in his entire 7 years, especially with a far more talented team than what Lebron had in his first playoff year

Bosh isn't even close to a franchise player, I would put in the category of Zach Randolph right now, a great stats big but nothing of value, just because Bosh is a classy guy knows how to talk to the media gets more respect becuase of htis but his stats and on court stuff is comparable to Zack Randolph, he's basically the likeable verson of Zach Randolph

hay I wish the best for Bosh but honestly Raptor fans put to much value on him

Basketball in Toronto never needed VC,Bosh, and Stoudamire, the truth is they needed the Raptors, the Raptors are always going to be strong organization because fans will always show up they get a automatic 16000 fans despite winning or losing, the Toronto Market is a top 10 money market in the nba easily, on good nights there will be sell out and others at least 16000 strong, even if we put a NJ Nets type team on the floor ( Basketball was strong in Toronto before the NBA came here to begin with, and once they were awarded a franchise the instantly became a top 10 market in the nba, there jersey sales proved that and marketing sales)

no one in the history of the Raptors has done anthing, you at least have to win a Eastern Conference Banner, make a nba final, or even a Eastern Conference Final, then there name deserves to be retired

I don't knowwhy these athletes like Turk with Bosh and Jalen Rose with Vince think we need to be thankful of Bosh and VC, because they gave a lot to the city, when they accomplished nothing, Ewing and the knicks went to finals, eastern conference finals that accomplishing something, Reggie Miller same thing, even Alonzo Mourning and the Heat in the late 90's

honestly what did they do??????????????????????????????????????????????

isn't Winning hte most important thing when it comes to Sports

I was on the fence about not booing Bosh was leaning towards not booing him but the more I think about it, and the more everyone wants to give credit to them, the more it sickens me and makes me want to boo his ass,

when it come to Turk, I didn't even know he played on the Raptors didn't see him all year

Turk is kinda calling out Colangelo on the same thing he did.

Bosh left, Colangelo said some thing that were considered negative.

So with his own safe distance from Toronto, Turk called out the Raptors organization.

Stellar hypocrisy, pizzaman.

Why can't everyone just shut their pie holes and move on? Honestly, I'd hate playing for TO too. That organization is fubared. Like I said, no more MLSE. Maybe Mark Cuban could buy the Raptors.

I guess he forgot he signed here. No problem Hedo, we wouldn't expect anything different.
