Turkoglu as our 6th man

just throwing this out there just to get your take on it. Lets say hypothetically that we were able to land Butler for Calderon + expirings? How would you feel about Hedo being our Barbosa or Jason Terry? Since Butler is 6'7 and is more of a SF, would you want Turkoglu coming off the bench as a sixth man playing the 2-3 spots, playing 30mpg, while keeping Derozan in his spot allowing him to continue to develop at this pace? The main question really is still the defence though and plus i doubt Hedo would be happy with that role.

Starters

Jack
Derozan
Butler
Bosh
Bargs

Depth

Turkoglu
Beli
Amir
Evans
Banks
Weems
Rasho
POB

I think that I would rather keep Turk with the starters. I like having a spark coming off of the bench and I don't really see Turk providing that.

If we were able to pick up Butler for Jose and filler then I'd like to see a second unit of DD, Weems, and Amir coming in with energy. Although, I suppose that at least one of those three would be included in the trade.

WRight could be the expiring that goes given they'd probably want some luxury tax relief

Sure, but that wasn't the point. I'm just saying that if we ever get another big name player and Butler's name is being tossed around, there would be too many mouths to feed in the starting lineup (unless Bargs/Bosh or Hedo is the one traded), wouldn't it then be advantageous to have one of eith Bargs or Hedo as our 6th man? Just throwing it out there..

Bury? Playing 30 minutes as a 6th man isn't exactly getting buried.

That has nothing to do with it at all. I'm just saying that if we get the Wing player we need, there might not be enough ball to go around. Just throwing it out there. I've always wanted a player coming off the bench that can come in and score and create ala Barbosa or Terry.

I stand behind my word: Jack should start and Jose should sit at the bench.
are we talking about trading turkoglu all of a sudden? the issue i was responding to is putting an expensive and effective player on the bench, which is exactly what you are proposing for jose and denying for turkoglu.

How many balls do Kobe, Artest, Gasol and Bynum play with? Or how about Howard, Lewis, Carter, Nelson?

I don't think any of those players care about their numbers as long as they're winning (Turk, Jack, and Bargnani especially).

if Turkoglu would play 30 mins off the bench in your vision and DD and Butler/ 'wing player we need' the rest then there's really not enough ball to go around. Weems, Belinelli? I think the Raptors are fine on the wings. Turk and DD is a nice combo, DD gets schooled sometimes or picks up fouls but three guys are backing him up really. and Hedo.

I'd rather pick up a defensive big if I'd trade Josť. But like I said, I like the rotation, as well as depth wise, so I'm fine with no trades. But NEED a wing player.. I really disagree with that.

If Hedo becomes our 6th man then its a no brainer that Jack goes to the bench. Jack needs more help setting up plays then Caldy does. When Caldy and Hedo play at the same time it just takes away from both guys. He hurts our O and both stink on d. Jack playing with Hedo now you have 2 guys that need each other to control the ball however they both stink on d.

Turk wouldnt mind coming off the bench. He wants to earn his money w/o the pressure anyway.
