Default Triano Would Have Been Fired?

Im watching the game with a friend of mine. Apparently one of his parents friends works for the raps broadcast team, and there were rumors that if the raps lost against Minny last week Triano would have been fired. Anyone else hear anything about this? Not sure if there were any threads about this last week.

As long as Bryan Colangelo is GM, Triano will not be fired. If Triano is fired and the team continues to play poor, the blame would fall on the players. Consequently, Colangelo would become the scapegoat.

BC is saving his own ass by keeping Triano as a scapegoat.

Why fire Triano now? Seriously this team goes nowhere this season. Why not make some stability and build a good foundation for the future.
If Triano is fired now, that's some BS.
The main reason of our standing is not the coaching. Injuries, poor roster, youth are.

Leave Triano alone !

you really can't polish a turd. the roster is full of holes right now and that's not Triano's fault.

He's a bad coach, it was the case prior to this season, it's the case now imo.

Based on what? Are you on the Raptors roster, do you work for the management, do you see what goes on behind the scenes, are you in any way affiliated with the coaching staff? If not then you're just blowing smoke.

The only way Triano is getting fired is if BC is going with him. They are stuck together.

Triano is doing alright with this squad and i believe his true judgement day comes when we get decent talent. if our record in said year is not 500 by 1/4 of the season done, hes gone. ive grown to like the man though.

They work for the same organization right? Rumours get around.
Anyways, never said it was a credible source just asked if any one else had heard about it.

Triano's gone at the end of the season. Whether or not BC stays, there will be a new coach next season, a high draft pick, an emphasis on continued improvement in their young players, and the signing of a few (overpaid) free agents. Hope springs eternal.

I wouldn't be surprised if Triano was here to start next season. And no, he has not had much to work with. I'm no triano fanboy but I'm tired of the pretense that this team should by winning. And Byron Scott is an idiot in cleveland too, right?

And mark my words, all Eric Spoelstra has to do is keep that team together, grow a Colonel Sanders mustache, sit there clipping his nails and spout off some Zen-master B.S. and they'll be calling him a genius coach too. Nothing to do with the horses he has pulling the wagon in Miami, of course.

I still want to see Phil Jackson coach this team. 15 wins instead of 14? Splendid!

I'm also tired of hearing "if Phil Jackson was here...yada yada yada"

Like i said this is his 3rd season here and his overall coaching skills, defensive schemes, rotations, overall system hasn't improved much if at all. This season because of injuries he gets a bit of a pass from me, but i will say, when we've been healthy this season he's still is a moron. Less bodies to work with = less mistakes. He has yet to get his players in any of the 3 seasons to be all on the same page at both ends consistently. He's either a coach that has a good philosophy and just can't communicate it properly or motivate, or he's simply a bad coach. Either way he's gotta go before next season imo.

I am just asking but what about last season? And the season before that? The Raptors had decent talent and still couldn't make the playoffs in the weak east. When Triano took over in 08-09, the team was 8-9 but they just got worse. Last season they should have been a top 5-6 team in the East and they end up missing out again. Does he not carry some responsibility for the previous 2 seasons going awry? This season can't be blamed on him, we all knew the Raps would be terrible. The previous 2 seasons, though, were very telling on his coaching abilities. Just my non-expert opinion.
