Triano Trying To Give Bayless More Minutes - RealGM Wiretap

I think Bayless needs more minutes for development and experience. He could be a very good back up point guard on this team. I wonder how Portland's, New Orleans, and Jay's playbook differ :P

I like this video of Bayless, and the beat is sick.

He will like the minutes, but he is not playing within himself. Should play more like Weems and Barbosa, he can't mimic Jose

Maybe playing a few more minutes will mean that he doesn't feel like he has to "prove" himself to stay out there.

This is the right move, not only for tank purposes, but also, to see what we have for the future. This also gives Jose a chance to play less minutes, and keep him healthy (knock on wood) for the rest of the season.

I always loved Bayless. I'm hoping this offseason he gets a lot of work done and he'll be dunking like that next year. Same for J.Johnson and Davis....now all we need is a center...sorry Bargs.

Im thinking more minutes will help him with his confidence. At least then he'll know he'll have consistent minutes every game and hopefully it will help with his game.

I guess, but having more doesn't hurt right? With steady minutes, he can at least start to play within himself.

he is playing within himself, what we see on the court is him
guy just needs to develop more of an overall game during the offseason

At some points of the game though he seems to be pushing it, but maybe thats lack of experience.

I agree with that, his lateral movement is not as quick before his injury

You guys can still make the playoffs! Indiana is droppin' like a dead duck. You guys and the Nets can make a run for it.

I know Bayless has been a little gimpy. But he's tough, and he'll play through it, especially if the rest of his team is trying hard to win.

no big deal either way this year ... give him some extra playing time.
The question is whether he will be a gym rat and improve his overall game ... shooting, ball control, defense, etc

Bayless showing a bit more maturity:

"Over the last 4 games Bayless is averaging about 9-ppg, 5-apg, 2-rpg, 1-spg, and shooting 55% from the field and about 70% from 3....He also only had 1 single turnover in those 4 games."

He's become expendable to me.

When I see him, DeRozan/Barbosa, Weems and Andrea at the same time I cringe. That's a line up where there's ZERO ball movement and only given up when they need help.
