Then why even claim that we CAN trade Demar at all (for better value)?

Newsflash: MEM is NOT trading Gay to us (or anyone else).

POR is NOT trading Batum.

MIA is NOT trading Lebron.

OKC is NOT trading Durant.

BOS is NOT trading Pierce.

HOU is NOT trading Harden.

Right now, in terms of trade for "all-star talent" you have a couple of "realistic" options IMO.

1. Amare (if you want to take his monster contract)
2. Pau
3. Eric Gordon (if NOH will let him go)

i think him settling for jumpshots also has to do with the fact that he's not getting the calls. more often than not he gets hammered attacking the rim and the refs call jack, you have to figure he's just thinking why bother at some point.

I'd love to see this and I agree 100%. Unfortunately it doesn't look like that'll ever happen whilst he's here. I actually think he'd improve.

Only other option is to trade him while his stock is high. The inevitable will happen otherwise - he'll learn that busting his balls night in and night out won't make a blind bit of difference and he'll stop improving and get used to that huge pay cheque (semi-sarcastic before everyone kicks off).

that's another thing that bothers me about these refs, they just seem as if they don't respect him. if that was lebron attacking you bet you're ass they're making the call every time.

Why did you list a load of SF's? There's are hundreds of options depending on which season the Raps really want to make a push to improve and change the losing culture.

The Lakers have complained about Pau for years.... and now he's got knee tendinitis.... I'm not sure it's a good option.... what does Pau do for this team, seriously, besides making us an 8th seed negating any flex on the cap.

You don't think he's the best player in the nba

The top players are always going to get everything they want (from the refs) (even though it isn't right).

come on, you get what i mean. i hate when announcers say "he hasn't earned that call yet" when talking about rooks or others. since when does making a call depend on the player? if it's a foul it's a foul, make the damn call.

Just move him to the three. Start Ross.

Play a more open fast paced style of ball. Try to outscore your opponents and force turnovers that lead to breaks.

Kind of how the suns used to play with amare, Nash, Joe Johnson...

Spread the floor. And swing the ball. With ab's three ball And hopefully Val playing the anchor role that could be quite effective for you guys.

Just make teams have to score 120 to beat you.

The Lakers also won 2 rings with him.

If hypothetically, the raps were to make a deal of jose/bargs for blake/pau - in total the raps would take on $3.473868 million(assuming Bargs doesn't use his ETO (he most likely will)). You just said he'd make the team an 8th seed, is that not better

Also, he expires next year (as does Lowry) so if it were insanely disastrous it would be short lived. Also, it's not like BC will do anything with Jose expiring - he'll likely just sign someone mediocre once more in fa

Because you were going on about wanting a SF.

The IDEAS are endless.... but the actual options? VERY limited.

Delmar is really lucky Bargnani is such a lightning rod for the fans, because his defense is pretty piss poor too. I would wait this season out, but in the summer, I think both him and Bargnani should be shipped out if there isn't some serious improvement. He's just not that blood offensively to compensate for his poor defense.

I agree though, the actual options are very limited. That's why you need to explore them all, and perhaps sweeten the deal our end to get back something of real worth. Regardless if that's for this season or 2-3 seasons time.

DeRozan has tremendous work ethic and continues to improve, but I wouldn't say he's untradeable. The players that are close to untradeable that I would like to build around are Lowry and Valanciunas. DeRozan's value has gone up, but I don't think there are teams out there that would give us a good return in the sense that we get fair value. He would for the most part have to be packaged in a larger trade. It would take things like: other good players wanting out of their respective teams, teams that may not want to re-sign a player for whatever reason i.e.) money, the right fit, or packaging a bad contract. I would do a Batum for DeRozan deal, but it won't make sense for the Blazers. If the Bulls offered me Deng for DeRozan I would do it. I would have done a Granger for DeRozan deal, but it's too risky given his health. I personally wouldn't mind doing a DeRozan for Tyreke Evans deal, but the problem with that is if Tyreke ends up avg 20 points down the stretch, some teams are going to offer him a ridiculous contract with his restricted free agent status. In short, there’s currently really not a deal out there and as long as BC is here, I can never see DeRozan being traded.

No way you trade DD. You build around him...play him at the 3 move Ross to the 2. You have good young players in Davis ,JV and Amir. With shooters like DD, Ross, Bargs and Davis ... Jose will just shit assists out of his ass like he has some stomach flu. A game controlled by Calderon will give our trooops the best chance to get this back on track. Will Lowry blow a casket if he goes to the bench, could be one hell of a wake cal up for Lowry and his team mates.

This could be what the doctors ordered !!!
