Thumbs up Toronto Sun: Jack not afraid to speak his mind

I like it.

Quote:
Jarrett Jack may be a newcomer to the Raptors, but he's not afraid to voice an opinion. "Chris (Bosh) called everyone in after practice and we do the one, two three, team cheer," Triano said yesterday. "Jarrett says: 'How can you come over here and say that? You haven't even practised yet.' He's not afraid to call guys out."

Nice .... we haven't had a guy like that since Oakley. I'm thinking Jack and Wright are quickly becoming some of my favourite players this season. I like the cut of their jib.

Well as nice as it sounds, I hope he knows his place.

I don't think they need a power struggle for team leader with a part time starter from indiana and a multiple all star.

I'm sure he knows.

i think it's good that Bosh is called out somewhat
i think that is an element that needed to improve
bosh has lacked accountability
raptors were rubbish last few seasons , if he's that good , the raps should be better then .500

Maybe Chris needs someone in his ear riding him even over stupid shit like this?

And maybe, just maybe it's a guy he has a close personal relationship with?

SJ sorry, but who cares where he came from or what role he played.

If he's got more intensity and is capable of playing the role of the leader then sure, I don't care. Simply becaue a guy is an all star doesn't make him the leader of the team. If anything I'd argue Jose is the leader of this squad because he's the only one who's shown any balls in the past.

And his role, really, was to bring intensity to this team. Why should a guy like that know his role?

ya maybe.

It could be a relationship like I had with pne of my close friends who I played with in college. He was a player, started I think, I red shirted, but I still rode him.

I guess all Im sayin, is just that I hope thats what it is, and not some silly battle brewing

Sounds to me like he was just joking around....

Like wouldn't you rip your buddy for that? I would... I'd be like "hey cupcake maybe when you toughen up you'll practice too!"

All in jest, taken out of context.....

I have spoken.

Bosh can deal with good honest digs, and must have grown used to it with Sam. And this is more important than just between friends stuff. Bosh does want to show leadership, and it's great that he's got someone close that can help bring that out in him more, and most importantly in a more meaningful way.

I'm guessing that Bosh is really chomping at the bit to get at it for real, and now that he's been shown up to some degree, he's going to feel more free to do the same where it's needed with someone else, but only after having lead by example first. It's a good step in terms of developing some mental toughness right on down the line. They are going to have to have a "show me" attitude to make it all work.

I remember when Jack was an option that was tossed out there on some boards years ago and it was laughed at.... glad to see that it's finally come to pass.

He's a solid kid, a solid player, and the relationship that he has with CB4 will be a perfect addition to the team.

Jacks vocal leadership and on court presence was very clear today, and he does seem like the most outgoing of the new players as he was fooling around with the crowd a lot. Hes going to be a for sure fan favorite, and a fan favorite that can actually play for once not just a hustle guy that the fans cheer on because hes a scrub a la Scalabrine type. I love everything about Jack so far.

I think fans are gonna love some of the new players, Jack, Beli, Evans, Derozan and of course Turkoglu are all gonna be favourites. All players that will make an impact in varying degrees.

I can't wait until tuesday to get a first look at them.

Jack + Calderon = 2 Jabroni's.

Though I have to agree with Wright as one of my favourite players on the squad right now.
