Default Toronto Sun: Bosh keeps it real

Quote:
"We're not one of those good teams where we can show up for a game and play basketball. Some teams are like that, but we're not good enough to do that," Bosh said. "We're going to have to practise hard. This is our first month together (so) we're going to have to do things at full speed."

I somehow doubt that teams like the Celtics just "show up to play" I am pretty sure they practice like madmen.

Bosh likes to keep it real, but LeBron and Shaq keep it realer.

It's funny that he thinks that great teams don't work hard.

Wow.

There have definitely been teams with lots of vets where most of the real work is saved for game time. Boston could very well be that kind of team this season, and it would probably be the best way for them to go.

Notice how he points out that they are needing to go full speed in practices, as in game speed. That doesn't typically happen with any team with players that know each other. It doesn't mean teams slack off, nor do I see where Bosh suggests as much, but it does highlight the amount of work the Raptors need to do right now, and he's absolutely right. The amount of intense work they put in right now is going to mean everything.
