Toronto Star: Raptors' fiery Jose Calderon silences critics

Raptors' fiery Jose Calderon silences critics - thestar.com

Hopefully the "bench Jose after 3 games" BS will subside for a day or two!
He was very confident last night and showed he deserves the starting role.

I still believe Jack's game is better suited for the second unit anyway.

Missed the game last nite but saw the tape delay on TSN2. When there is a fire lit under Caldys ass he plays so much better. Loved it when he he stepped right into Pauls face for the knock down. The Spainard was bringing it last nite. Jose, now rip Kidds face off 2 nite.lol

LOL I love Jose's temper tantrums. To be fair Paul did stick his Ass out to try to get a call but Jose still classic when he goes off.

First KG now CP3 I wanna see the next superstar Jose goes off at. The Spaniard Tantrum.

he was much better last night, but traditionally he has good games against paul. Remains to be seen how he continues, he should shred oldman kidd to pieces tonight.

Jose had been playing like a pansy before last night. I think the criticism was justified. Hopefully he continues to play well because we really need him to!

I agree.

As much as I love Jose he DID look very shaky over the first couple of games.

Completely different player (on both ends) vs. the Hornets last night.

He had a good game against CP3?? Are U kidding me? CP3 had 21 Points and 18 Assists Jose must improve his Defence

I guess you missed the game. Jose will be just fine , he has the biggest heart on team and once again he showed it when he flattened Pauli to the floor. He gave it to KG and now Paul. Bottom line we won the game and thats all Jose cares about. Most NBA players are all about stats, the me players, while Jose is all about the Raptors. He gives it his all, he knows he has not played well but as long as the team wins thats what counts for Jose.

He's just starting to get going. Many forget that Calderon starts his season usually ahead of everyone, playing for the Spanish National Team. So by the time the NBA season starts, he's going at top speed. This has caused him to be injured and worn out at the end of the season. So this year he took the time off and you could tell he's 'rusty'. I'd rather have him play inconsistently at the start of the season and getting better moving forward, than being tired and injured towards the latter part of the season. The team is also just starting to gel. He also has the hardest change to make in terms of his game due to the big group of new players coming in. Hopefully this is the start of better things for him.

Chris paul is averaging 30 a game so we did alright on him we didnt let anyone else get hot and blew them out at the end. I dont know anyone that can shut Chris Paul down.

Criticism was absolutely justified. Panic and yelling for him to bench him was not (not by you, but many others). Was only 3 games in.
