We're 6th...

5. Cleveland (20-39) .339
6. Raptors (22-39) .361
7. Golden State (22-37).373

if we win the last 3 games (and there's a really good chance we will), we will drop to 9th, but possibly even to 10th. At that spot, there's no chance to drop further after the lottery, so we're basically going to draft where we end up. Depending on who's ahead and their needs, we may or may not get barnes, most likely not.

That low, we're almost certainly not getting anything better than a marginal starter, so we might as well trade the pick if that's the case.

Why is there a really good chance we will? And how do you know what the other teams right there with us will do? Why don't we all just take a breath, step away from the ledge and see what happens.

He's not just like Rudy Gay wasn't. Or maybe you could enlighten me as to who you think is better so your post is useful. Pretty sure its easy to see who 1-2 would be for us.

Not sure what Rudy Gay has to do with this conversation, but anyway, Gay was a guy who had potential to be a really good player because he could get to the hoop and also hit the outside shot. Also he was athletic which really helped him do other things such as rebounding and defending.

I don't see the same things with Barnes. Can barely dribble so I dont know what he'll do once his shot isn't falling, also he doesn't do anything else well (kinda like DeMar). I think he'd be a little better version of Jared Dudley (more consistent shooter and maybe a little quicker) which isn't that bad, but not one you'd take in the top 3. Anyways, mine would probably be:

AD
Beal
MKG or Lamb

I think by the time we get around to selecting, the best available player will be Barnes and I'm not completely disappointed in that. He addresses a need, will be able to play off of Calderon and plays D well.

It depends so much on where we land and who it taken before. Obviously that's true for every draft but this year in particular you have guys that are projected to go anywhere between 4 and 10 etc. there's just so much uncertainty.

Here's hoping we lose our last games and put ourselves in a good position in the draft!

I don't know about that...
he has a great physical size, a good 3-pt shooter, but he looks a little one handed to me, and his handle isn't the greatest...

he is a top 10, but not 3rd best

No, he is not the 3rd best player in this draft. AD, MKG and Beal are all ahead of him. T.Robinson may also be ahead of him. Sullinger is at/near where Barnes is and Drummond may be ahead of him due to potential but he has a lot of bust potential as well. Barnes will be a decent starter.

It will be good if we can take one of the top 3, means any one from AD, MKG and TRobinson...but the draft is so deep that it seems like at 10th there are still way better than DeRozan talent...dont get me wrong i like DD...

if we are not lucky maybe Sullinger, PJ3, Zeller,JLamb or even TJones will do...

I like Sullinger and Lamb. I think Perry Jones 3 will be like Anthony Randolph.

Interesting at the Barnes/Gay comparison, i see Barnes as a hybrid of Danny Granger/Luol Deng.. just wont be as good offensively as Granger, or defensively as Deng, but a nice balance between the two skillsets.

PJ3 on the other hand has the ability to be Rudy Gay 2.0

and personally, id take either of those over a Eric Gordon 2.0 (bradley beal)

i know 99% of analysts will say beal will have a better pro career than Barnes or PJ3, but safe picks don't always pan out, and sometimes it pays off to take a gamble.

This team can't afford to miss. Beal is actually bigger than Eric Gordon.... he could be even better. Perry Jones is a tweener at the 3/4, and we have enough of those and enough PF.

comparisons to ray allen.
my top three would be AD, MKG and BB. after that the drop off is huge! and 4-10 can basically be all lump together
