Arrow Toronto Raptor fans: What would you do if you were Chris Bosh?

Quote:
Right now, Toronto is 13-17. The Raptors are barely holding on to the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference. Tonight they play against a Detroit Piston squad that is slightly better than Derrick Rose’s Chicago Bulls. That’s right, Raptors fans. Your team is 13-17 with Jose Calderon, Chris Bosh, Hedo Turkoglu, and Andrea Bargnani. With talent like that, the Raps should be above .500; well above that mark to be exact. What’s wrong? Why are they here? They’re below mediocre. This cannot be the coach’s fault. The talent is all there. Could it be that this cast is just a bad mix?

The one thing that sticks out like a red thumb is the lack of a true definitive superstar. YES, Chris Bosh IS NOT A SUPERSTAR. Deal with it. Anyway, there is none on this roster. Calderon is great as a fantasy statistics point guard. He doesn’t turn over the ball much, but doesn’t create much impact in reality. He plays too safe and doesn’t take many risks. Chris Bosh is also a great fantasy stat power forward, but the guy is not a dominant superstar like Tim Duncan or Charles Barkley. The Turk is a good addition on paper although that’s not making a world of a difference in the win-loss column. The Toronto Raptors is a very talented team. It’s just they can’t accomplish much unless they turn things around DRASTICALLY
Quote:
Personally, if I was him, I’d seriously lean towards leaving. Six seasons with the ball club and we haven’t gotten anywhere. That doesn't inspire anything. Please consider a sign and trade since there are not many teams right now that would trade for a half a season rental. Sign then trade Bosh. Get back some young talent and some draft picks. That’s the best they can do.

Bosh will leave. He'll have more success in basketball and selling his DVDs in the States.

It's a tough question to ask someone who has lived in Toronto his entire life and has the desire to venture elsewhere, at least for a short while. Barring a nice turnaround this season, I would probably ensure that Wade stays in Miami and join him there. Bosh and Wade would make an interesting one-two punch, though it wouldn't really guarantee him a championship either.

Demand to Colangelo that he gets MSLE to give money this Summer to sign Dwyane Wade with the rest of the team back next year or he leaves.

I believe CB4 is telling the truth when he says he doesnt know.

It's a tough call between being "the man" and being comfortable and wanting to win RIGHT NOW.

If I were Chris Bosh I'd get a haircut, stop making stupid skits and DVD's and foul the shit out of the next opposing player to come down the lane.

If I were Bosh I'd potentially join Wade in Miami. Even though I don't even think that tandem will win anything its his best chance of winning and enjoying south beach.

I'm not Chris Bosh. I'm from here. I live here. This is my home. I'd stay in Toronto is a heartbeat.

If he really loves it here like he says, staying is a good idea. There are as many pitfalls as not if he leaves. Keep in mind, and his Agent is telling him this. He could leave and find his shortcomings are exposed more than his upsides. He is insulated up here. Half is hype is created by media guys trying to paint him as the unsung, under appreciated hero from the North. Once he's south, it's put up of shut up.

If I were Chris Bosh, I would know that I would not win a championship team in the near future with this team:

This franchise had franchise players. What did they do:

They Gave Vince Carter: Antonio Davis with a few good years in the tank, Olajuwaon, injury prone Alvin Williams, Jalen Rose, Lamond Murray, Mo Pete

They Gave Bosh: An aging JO, half a year with Marion, over hyped Hedo, No.1Pick Bargnani, TJ Ford, Calderon

They have never given their franchise player a reliable all-star sidekick, and a well-balanced team that can play defence. Maybe that one year AD made the All-Star and the team advanced past the first round. That's one year in 15 years of existence.

I would probably stay. Toronto can give me the most money and is building this team around me; therefore, I will be the focal point of the offense which allows me to put up really good numbers, make the allstar team every year, rep my country in the Olympics and build my stock towards a hall of fame career. The team is trying to build a winner here...not having much luck right now but they could get it right someday. I can cash in on my big payday now and then when the contract is done sign with a winner and go for the ring. History will remember me for all the 20/10 seasons i'll put up in Toronto and while I might not be remembered quite like my draft buddies Wade and Lebron I will be thought of as the loyal, hard working good all-round guy I am and my family will never have to worry about a thing.

If I leave for another team with another superstar like Wade on it I would be the number two guy. I still might put up decent numbers but i'll always be in his shadow. I might not make the allstar team every year anymore and while we might have a better shot at winning the championship, I'll always wonder if I could have done it as the man and not the sidekick. Yeah I could find a place with better weather but seriously I will make over 20$ a year with endorsements anyways...who cares about the weather for the next 6 years of my life???

Make a new video DVD.

Replay my allstar bid video.

Talk about how my name should be mentioned not as an afterthought when talking about the class of 2003.

talk about what needs to be done as a team then say enough with the talking time for doing.

Can we please let him walk? I would much rather bring in another patent all star who plays the SG position then watch the Duo of Bargs and Bosh play like a couple babies in the lane and settle for jump shots.

we won't be under the cap by enough to sign any kind of all-star if Bosh walks.

I think he legit doesn't know, but I'm sure nobody here would be surprised if he ended up in Miami.

Still too early to tell. I think that he'll start to have a better idea by the trade deadline (not that he's going anywhere then).

Really depends on how much he trusts BC at this point. If he thinks that BC can build a winner around him then I think he'd stay.... if he doesn't then he'll leave.

I love how the article says "Chris Bosh is not a superstar" and then goes on to say how suspect his team is lol.... boy oh boy sometimes I wish that TD had gone to a REAL bottom-feeder lottery team instead of the Spurs.... just so these idiots would be able to see that no ONE player (esp. a big) leads a team to the promised land by himself.

If I were CB4 I would convince LeBron, Wade, and Amare to all take pay cuts and sign with NYK and trade for Rubio or get another PG

Rubio/Wade/LeBron/Bosh/Amare

to be fair nobody else in that 2003 draft class has had to play 4 years next bargnani. A little unfair to Bosh as he been paired up front with a slow to develope burden for more then half his career

I would move (closer to) home. With a young child, and the fact that I can pretty much go any where I want, why not move closer to mom. Any team in Texas would provide a fantastic base for your talent. Being Coached by some of the best coaches. With less of the distractions of a larger market.

actually i would think the texas team's are actually a pretty big market though Bosh is probably an attention whore that wants a big market.
Even san antonio has all of texas cheer for it when playoffs come around because who wants to cheer for a big fraud that needs an elbow pad the size of dallas to protect his minor cut and bruises. Texas has got to be close to canada in terms of population

here's to hoping dirks hair gets caught in the net next time he lays one in
