Toronto Making Strong Push For Amare!?

RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Toronto Making Strong Push For Amare
Quote:
The Raptors are "pushing hard" for Amare Stoudemire, according to one executive, but at this point they want to pair Stoudemire with Chris Bosh and continue to rebuff any trade proposals that include parting with Bosh.
Another thing, RealGM: Basketball Wiretap Archives: Blazers Could Send Aldridge And Bayless For Amare?
Quote:
The Portland Trail Blazers have made a strong play for Amare Stoudemire, discussing a package that includes LaMarcus Aldridge, Jerryd Bayless, and Raef LeFrentz's $12.7 million expiring contract, a person with direct knowledge of the talks told CBSSports.com Tuesday.

The Blazers have four extra second-round picks in the next two drafts to offer, plus the rights to British big man Joel Freeland, taken by Portland with the 30th pick in the 2006 draft.

Freeland has reportedly been included in the talks.

Amar'e - Bosh tandem would be deadly

how can extra 2nd round picks and Freeland sweeten the deal for Amar'e

I thought I just read that the Blazers are unwilling to give up on Bayless since so many teams have called about him.

Sounds like RGM is making shit up to attract visitors.

Exactly what we need...another PF.

While we're at it why don't we get another one dimensional sharp shooter?

Theres absolutely no way Toronto can get Amare without parting with Bosh. Toronto has no major expirers or no young players. They have a good trade pick, but so do many other teams.

Suns are interested in:
- Expirers - which Toronto doesnt have
- Draft picks - They 'll have a good one this season
- Young Players - They could move Bragnani

If Toronto used their head, they could get a third team involved and move JO to a 3rd team. Take a look at this complicated Trade ESPN.com - NBA - Trade Machine Results

Toronto Sends:
unprotected first rounder
JO
Parker
Graham
Bargnani

Toronto Receives:
Amare
Gordon
Nocioni

This trade might be a little too good for Toronto, but Bulls get JO (whom theyve always wanted). Suns get a lot of expirers (Parker, Graham, Sefolosha, and Gooden), a young player (Bragnani), and a lottery pick

Jose
Gordon
Nocioni
Bosh
Amare

Much better line up

If we need a three team trade why not just do ........

Toronto gets: Amar'e

Miami: JO

PHX: Marion

its very simple, but not likely

Well for starters, Kerr is the one who traded away Marion, hes not going to want him back. Also, Amare has way more value than both those players, its not even fair

Oh, oh...I'll play too.

ESPN.com - NBA - Trade Machine Results

Toronto trades Chris Bosh to Miaimi straight up for Wade.

Toronto trades O'Neal and and two unprotected firsts for Kobe.

Toronto sends Parker, Graham and Kapono to Orlando for Tony Battie and Dwight Howard.

PG - Jose
SG - Wade
SF- Kobe
PF - Bargnani
C- Howard

Trades suck, any team with Bosh and Amare is a bad team.

Those 2 would never mesh on the court.

1. Who gets the ball on offense?
Bosh is a better shooter but a pick and roll between Jose and Amare would be better than Bosh shooting 18ft jumpers.

2. Who would play any sort of defense underneath? Bosh-Nope. Amare? Nope.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one to think this is a TERRIBLE idea(not that I believe the hype necessarily). We've seen this year how well the three PF rotation has gone for us... crap! If we go after Amare, it should be to replace Bosh and still get rid of Oneal for a wing player. Teams dont' win without a guy that can light it up and get to the rim from the backcourt in this league..period.!

And then who would you play at C and PF? Please dont say Bragnani. Amare and Bragnani would be the weakest front court in the history of the NBA

First of all his name is Bargnani and seeing as he's stronger and ever so slightly more physical than Bosh, a Bosh/Amare front court would be weaker. Not mention he's looked quite good playing the 5 this year.

Yup. It's clear Bargnani is going to be our 5 for the forseeable future and i dont' have a problem with that.

And keep in mind I didn't say we should trade Bosh for Amare... I'm saying if BC wants Amare...dump Bosh, not JO to get him. I'd rather keep Bosh, Bargnani and trade O'Neal to get us the wing player we need(either this year or sign next year)... and of course trade Calderon for a drive and kick guy

Nah ... those are not good deals for Toronto. You can't trade away the future superstar Joey

There is no way Bargnani's defense is better than Bosh's. Thats just absurd. Bargnani is lost on defense
