Bosh begins pedalling his way to a Raptors return

Quote:
Chris Bosh was able to ride a stationary bike yesterday, a fitting routine given how much the Raptors have back-pedalled in the big man's injury absence.
Quote:
Bosh will miss his fifth complete game today and admits he's uncertain if he'll be available for the coming five-game foray to the wild West.

"Unfortunately, I've been a student of the game,'' Bosh said of his role as a spectator.

"By watching, I can see what I could do better, but that's really all that I can do at this point.

"I can see what kind of an effect I can have on a game, but I've seen this before (missing games in the wake of an injury). That's why I don't really get frustrated."
WNBA coming north?

Quote:
Freedman, whose history with basketball dates back some 35 years, is heading a group of investors interested in bringing a WNBA franchise to play out of the Ricoh Coliseum and the Hershey Centre.

"The prospects are better than 50%,'' Freedman said. "The WNBA is quite positive, and so am I, that a team in Toronto will do well.
Injuries pile up for Knicks

Quote:
Jamal Crawford and Eddy Curry were added to the injury list last night, leaving the New York Knicks without their top four scorers for their game against Portland.
Mavs not going to panic

Quote:
The Mavericks are 4-5 since pairing the all-star point guard with the reigning MVP, Dirk Nowitzki. The rut includes three straight losses and four of five, dropping Dallas to seventh in the Western Conference.

Sloppy play has Raps in a funk

Quote:
There have been troubling signs.

T.J. Ford has been abysmal the past few games in a backup role, not only for the mistakes he's making but for the signals he's sending with body language and something approaching lethargy.

There have been sniping incidents on the court, Rasho Nesterovic imploring with animation he rarely shows teammates to box out on rebounds like they've been taught since they were pre-teens.

There are sideways glances after blown plays, looks of frustration and downright anger, moments that suggest a thin thread is holding the team together.

"It's not that guys are nipping at each other, it's just that you grab each other and it's like, 'C'mon, c'mon,' " Mitchell said. "That's what you're supposed to do. Rasho is doing it, A.P. (Anthony Parker) is doing it."
Rockets keep on soaring

Quote:
McGrady scored 41 points last night and the Rockets stretched their winning streak to 18 games with a 106-96 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

The Rockets have won their last nine games by double digits and moved into a tie with the Hornets in the overall conference standings. Houston, 13-15 in mid-December, closed within one game of San Antonio in the Southwest Division.
AND FURTHERMORE:

Quote:
What the Raptors need is a 2008 version of knock-you-on-your-butt Charles Oakley. Bryan Colangelo seems to have one missing ingredient in his master recipe. ... If Chris Bosh is so key to the Raptors' fortunes that they are life-and-death to win without him, rest assured opposing coaches will be plotting ways to frustrate him come playoff time.

LeBron's great, but Kobe's MVP

Quote:
In choosing the MVP, I have to ask these questions: If I'm strategizing for the last shot, who is taking it if I have the ball and who is defending the opponent's best player if they have the ball? In both cases, I choose Kobe over LeBron.

That was her best pic ACIE ... a couple of the other ones were kind of questionable and made her look masculine.
