Bosh itching to get back in the lineup

Quote:
"Hopefully when I come back all of that will come to and end because I demand certain things out of my teammates and out of myself," Bosh said. "I hope all these defensive lapses and stagnant offences, I hope all that changes."
Raps wallow in the West

Quote:
Kapono caught fire in the second quarter, striking for 14 points, ten of them in the midst of a 16-2 Raptors' run that erased all but a point of a 15-point Sacramento lead.

Unfortunately, the Kapono run didn't extend into the fourth quarter when the Raptors needed him most, {meaning Sam had him riding the pine}although he did finish with a team-high 26 points.

"We just collectively have to play better. We had two or three guys play good against Golden State and we had two or three (last night), but we have to get five, six, seven guys playing well at the same time," coach Sam Mitchell said.
Brock rocks the rim

Quote:
For the first time since 1992 and only the second time in school history, the Brock University Badgers are the Canadian Interuniversity Sport men's basketball champions.

Mike Kemp scored a game-high 23 points to lead No. 7-seeded Brock to a 64-61 win over the fifth-seeded Acadia Axemen yesterday.
Tar Heels on a tear

Quote:
North Carolina, Memphis, Kansas and UCLA earned the top seeds in the NCAA tournament yesterday, and the top-ranked Tar Heels got the best deal of all: Their road to the Final Four won't veer more than two hours outside their Chapel Hill campus.

The Tar Heels (32-2) are the top seed in the East, with their first- and second-round games scheduled for Raleigh and the next two rounds in Charlotte.
No rest for Rasho

Quote:
Nesterovic, starting with Chris Bosh out of the lineup because of injury, played all but 23 seconds of the game against Sacramento last night and helped keep the Raptors in the game with 20 points.
Rockets at 22

Quote:
Rafer Alston scored 31 points and hit eight three-pointers, both career highs, and the Rockets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 104-92 to stretch their streak to 22 and claim sole possession of first place in the Western Conference.

Road miseries mount as club drops fourth straight

Quote:
Once again falling behind by double digits with passive defence that was at times laughable, Toronto ultimately suffered a 106-100 loss to the Sacramento Kings last night, extending the current losing streak to a season-worst four games.

Raptors suffer fourth loss in a row

Quote:
The Raptors conclude their western swing tonight against a Jazz team that is 28-3 on its home floor.

Toronto's hold on fifth place in the Eastern Conference is down to a half game over the Washington Wizards and 1 over the surging Philadelphia 76ers.
Nuggets set NBA season-high in scoring

Quote:
The Nuggets set NBA season highs for points in a half with 84 and points in a game with a 168-116 rout of the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday night. Denver set a franchise record for most points in a regulation game and fell just 16 points shy of the franchise record for points in a game.

Raptors' road trip a nearly complete nightmare

Quote:
The Raptors were not consistently bad, mind you. But the mental lapses, for a team that was supposed to be desperate, were inexcusable.

Kings pull out a victory

Quote:
"It wasn't textbook, but the guys came up with a victory," Theus said after the Kings defeated the Raptors 106-100 Sunday in front of an announced crowd of 13,963 at Arco Arena. "I thought our energy level was real low tonight, but they found a way to get it done, and that's really the only thing that's important."
