Raps' big guns sit

Quote:

The Raptors rank first in the NBA in three-point shooting (43%) and free-throw shooting (84%). Toronto has three players ranked among the NBA's top-15 three-point shooters. Heading into last night's game against Charlotte, Anthony Parker is third (51%, 27-for-57), Jason Kapono is tied for fourth (50%, 26-for-52) and Bargnani is 15th (45%, 28-for-62). No other team in the NBA has three players in the top 15.

"There's a lot of teams where the guys don't care when they're not in the rotation on a nightly basis," Humphries said. "We have guys who are ready to play who haven't been playing a lot, and I think that's the key for us. We have good guys (on the bench) who still compete and want to play."
Rautins won't stop pursuing Nash

Quote:

"I would say no, but I can't really talk about it until the situation arrives and this season comes to a conclusion," Nash, a Victoria native, told the Associated Press. "But in my mind right now, I'm not going to play for Canada anymore. I just can't do both."

No stars, no problem for Raptors

Quote:

"I see a lot of plays where he can play better," Mitchell said of Humphries. "He played well but I think he can do better. But we needed him. Him, Joey, Darrick (Martin, 14 minutes behind Jose Calderon), those guys stepped up and played well.

"Jose only had to play 34 minutes; Rasho (Nesterovic), we were able to hold his minutes down a little bit. That was a good win."
Raptors backup singers in sweet harmony

Quote:

Carlos Delfino, who is being called the Silent Assassin and perhaps coincidentally looks not unlike Albert DeSalvo, the Boston Strangler continued to assert himself in a Toronto uniform, this time chipping in with 17 points and a buzzer-beating three-pointer to seal a 27-16 first quarter when the Bobcats, with a foul to give, chose not to give it to anyone.

Second stringers shine

Quote:

Moon held his own against Wallace, who signed a five-year, $65-million (U.S.) contract in the off-season. Moon counted a game-high 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots to go with six points in 41 minutes, while holding Wallace to 4 of 13 shooting.

Did they talk about Alabama basketball, or were those memories not on his mind after Charlotte's lopsided loss?

"Tonight was probably painful for him," Moon said. "They say you're only as good as your last game. If we get a win out of it, that's great. It was fun for me, man. I really enjoyed playing against him. It felt like we were back in high school again."

Raptors find way to win without stars

Quote:

At small forward, Jamario Moon suffocated his Alabama high school rival, Gerald Wallace - they grew up just 27 miles apart - with his length and timing, holding Wallace to 4-of-13 shooting.

At point guard, Jose Calderon ate up counterpart Ray Felton, who missed all eight of his shots, and finished scoreless to Calderon's 12 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. At shooting guard, Anthony Parker helped hold Jason Richardson to 3-of-17 from the floor, though Richardson continues to far outpace Parker in the pay cheque.

Core players 7-of-38 in Bobcats loss

Quote:

"I can't say what everybody else did last night, but (a lack of preparation) did show in the first quarter, like it's shown in the last six games," he said.

That sunshine could be latin, asian or muslim. She is mix of all of them. Beautiful.
Delfino and Calderon FTW

Nice win last night, but without one of Bosh or Bargs our chances against Phoenix go from slim to nil.

Belsius 12-04-2007 11:20 AM

I think we can win the phoenix game if jesus disguises as joey and he scores 40 points.
If we win it will be a BIG surprise.

:D LOL .... We can only pray and hope that Joey becomes Jesus tomorrow, but without Bosh and Bargs and possibly TJ, this is gonna be "Fugly". :(

Belsius 12-04-2007 11:28 AM

Anyway Im going to love the game, dont care if we lose, I just dont want to lose by 20, I thinks its the first time im going to see calderon and Nash playing at the same time.

Claudius 12-04-2007 11:34 AM

Seeing as how I'm going to the game tomorrow....they better fucking win. I hate going to games where they get owned.

The fact that she isn't showing any skin is a dead giveaway for her being a tranny. That and her adam's apple.

MangoKidHoops 12-04-2007 02:07 PM

I hope the guys can at least keep this game close. I remember we caught the Suns lat year on a back to back - they had just won a game in Chicago - a game they erased a 20+-point deficit, so hopefully the Pacers can tenderize them a bit tonight in Indy. I can see Bosh wanting to be out there - and playing through some pain. I don;t know if TJ will be back, but I can see ANdrea for some reason, wanting to sit this one out. As long as they have pretty much all hands on deck for Friday's game, that's all that matters.

Doesn't she still work for the Raptors on Raptors TV?

I know she's going to be a professor at the School of Sports Broadcasting taht's opening up pretty soon.

Acie 12-04-2007 02:15 PM

Norma was let go. It's funny you mention her because my girlfriend asked on yesterday where the manly looking reporter the Raptors used to have went.

Yeah, I know she was let go but was wondering where she was now.

Just thought some of you stalkers kept tabs on her. ;)

Krazy Ivan 12-04-2007 02:41 PM

This is weird... i saw Norma couple of days ago here in downtown TO... she actually looked good, much better in person then on tube... she has different hair colour and she looked like she was in a hurry...

There you go, she is alive and well... IMO as an interview she wasn't all that good but in the studio she was great... Full Court Press right now is just unwatchable...
