Raps down to 9 healthy bodies

Quote:
The list of injured players grew when Jamario Moon arrived with a sore right Achilles tendon that kept him on the sidelines all morning. Will Solomon just shook his head when he walked out and was asked how his bad hamstring is coming and Hassan Adams beat a hasty retreat to get treatment on the right shoulder he injured Friday at practice.

Nathan Jawai, something of a forgotten soul, hasn't done a thing since training camp began because of a cardiac problem that popped up in pre-camp tests and he's still unable to do any on-court action.

Raptors and 76ers power up the East

Quote:
The NBA experienced a shift in power when Elton Brand and Jermaine O'Neal, two natural power forwards, changed teams in the off-season.

Brand's controversial free-agent move from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Philadelphia 76ers brings the explosive post player back to the Eastern Conference, where he began his career with the Chicago Bulls as the first overall pick in 1999.
Crowning achievement

Quote:
The undisputed leader of the Redeem Team, King James enters the NBA season as the game's top player, with all due respect to Kobe Bryant, the league's reigning MVP.

With Mo Williams now part of the James Gang in Cleveland, the Cavaliers are more than capable of making a long post-season run and providing LeBron with that elusive ring.
Injury bug hits Raps

Quote:
Moon's injury, a nagging Achilles strain, is the most alarming given the potential minutes coach Sam Mitchell would have to fill should the injury prove to be

Questions still linger

Quote:
"Defensively we have to find our way," O'Neal said, having recorded five blocks on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. "We're not shooting the ball as well as we'd like, but defensively we just haven't played great.

"We've allowed too much dribble penetration, we've allowed guys to catch the ball in the low post where they want to get it. We have to get better."

Young trying to find his place

Quote:
During one month-long span early last season, Thaddeus Young was on the court less than Hip Hop, the 76ers mascot.
Buried on the Sixers' bench, his long-sleeve shooting shirt perpetually on, Young watched a significant amount of his rookie season without breaking a sweat.
Dalembert back at practise, Young out

Quote:
Sixers center Samuel Dalembert returned to practice yesterday at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, but forward Thaddeus Young sat out and received treatment for the back strain he suffered during the team's workout Friday.

Argh .... looks like Jamario out now too.

I guess Sam has no choice but to play with a tighter rotation.

Last year Bosh was not 100 percent at the start of the season. This year Bosh is great, and everyone else is banged up or worse. Almost everyone else anyway. At least this way, Bosh and a really tight rotation can carry the load, and we don't end up looking at a number of different guys to play above their abilities to make up for things like when Bosh was playing hurt or not playing at all.

It's not the injured scrubs that concern me. It's the extended minutes the starters are going to have to play.
