Raptors blow double-digit lead in loss to Bucks

Quote:
“I can’t fault our guys for blowing a lead,” said Triano. “Luke Ridnour made two threes and Charlie Bell catches a deflection before it goes out of bounds. There were four plays in a row where the right thing happened but it just didn’t go for us. I’m not upset with the guys or pointing the finger at anyone.”

He wasn’t upset, and neither, it seemed, was Chris Bosh, who had a 31-point, 11-rebound night and pronounced himself “happy” in the post-game locker room.

Jawai targets return

Quote:
Nathan Jawai is shooting for the end of January to make his Raptors debut, a moment more than three months in the making since concerns were raised about a heart ailment.

"The workouts are going great and I'm getting into shape quicker than I expected," the jumbo-sized centre said yesterday in Milwaukee.
CB4 dials 911

Quote:
One of the most relieved Raptors after winning two in a row was captain Chris Bosh, who was having trouble accepting loss after loss and not likely relishing the thought about taking more weight on with Jermaine O'Neal and Jose Calderon out. But Bosh had been getting assistance from many quarters prior and believes adversity brought out the best in his mates.
Raps drop the ball

Quote:
The Raptors solid play began unravelling at the end of the third quarter, with the likes of Jason Kapono struggling from long range and the Bucks getting too many second-chance points. Kapono had five of the team's 15 turnovers. When Triano elected to sit Bosh to start the fourth with three fouls, the Bucks took advantage.

It was the eighth time the Raps have lost this year when holding a 10-point lead, which was as high as 13 last night and back up to 11 in the third quarter after Andrea Bargnani sank a three-pointer.

Raptors' run ends at two

Quote:
"I make my shots when I play Toronto. We should be playing Toronto every game," said Villanueva, averaging 23.2 points in the last five games against the Raptors, 10 above his career average.

Instead of relying on defence, which has been much better of late, the Bucks simply outscored the Raptors down the stretch, getting 11 points each from Charlie Bell and Ramon Sessions and sending one of the NBA's most disappointing teams to another loss after it appeared Toronto had built some momentum with a big win over Orlando on Sunday.

Banged-up Raptors downed by the Bucks

Quote:
The Raptors were short-handed once more, as they will be tomorrow night in Washington. Jermaine O'Neal missed his fourth straight game because of a right knee contusion, while Jose Calderon missed his second game in a row because of a right hamstring strain.

While Calderon's replacements, Will Solomon and Roko Ukic, took care of the ball reasonably well, they did not exactly spread the floor with their shooting. The pair combined to shoot just 7-for-21 from the floor. While Ukic is certainly not known for his jumper, Solomon missing 11 of his 13 shots was unexpected, and ultimately, the number that killed Toronto.

Friendly court key to strong play late

Quote:
Michael Redd sank 4 three-pointers and scored a season-high 35 points. It was a good night for the bench as forward Charlie Villanueva dropped in 25 points, two shy of his season high, on his former team and Bell and Ramon Sessions scored 11 points each. Starting forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute grabbed 11 rebounds to help the Bucks outrebound Toronto by five.

"It was just a tremendous team effort tonight," Redd said. "It was a tough game. Toronto has been playing well. We knew that coming in. For us, it was a must win. We had to get this win and we did."

Come'on TO ... this is INSIDER we're talking about.

This is the girl the Sun chose to calm our nerves after a frustrating loss last night.

How much do these SUN photographers get paid? Because I swear to God I could do a better job (and find better models) than they could.

This SHOULD be taped up in the Raptors dressing room:

"I make my shots when I play Toronto. We should be playing Toronto every game," said Villanueva.

today's sunshine girl doesnt make yesterday's look that bad.

im starting to think bosh's attitude hasnt been what it was 2 years ago.
you would hope the guy wouldnt be so happy with a team that's 14-21.
he used to be more serious about winning and getting better.
