D-League coming to T.O.?

"We're exploring possible involvement similar to what you see in Los Angeles and San Antonio," Colangelo said yesterday, citing examples of two NBA teams with ownership stakes in minor league teams that operate geographically close to the parent organization.

An Ontario-based D-League team works at many levels, Colangelo thinks. Not only does it "extend the brand" of the Raptors, it gives the team far more control that it has now with its affiliate in Colorado.
Accountable athletes – who knew?

"That tells me they're beyond that the coach is always wrong. Sometimes, no matter what the coach says it's, `Bulls---. I'm a player. He's a coach. Coach is wrong.' You've got to be man enough to say when the coach is right."

Peddie on thin ice?

On the Wikipedia entry for Peddie yesterday, a biased Leafs' fan had obviously hijacked the page, as it read: "Richard A. Peddie (born in Windsor, Ontario), is sadly the president and CEO of Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment" and that "many fans point to Peddie for the events that lead to the team's failure."
Breaking Bargnani

But while Mitchell and his coaching staff have endeavoured to help Bargnani through this transition, their efforts have not always been met by an appreciative Bargnani in Mitchell's opinion. Mitchell has seen Bargnani go through the one-on-one drills that would help him make the transition with a half-hearted effort.

Mitchell said Bargnani needed to be broken of that and his weapon of choice was a cold shoulder that stayed frosty for the past three weeks.
Bosh keeps up streak

"We just played Detroit last week and saw them play again Sunday night," Mitchell said. "Detroit is not going to fool you. We know what they are going to do. The only issue is going to be can we stop them. You have to score against Detroit. We just can't let them make us play the way they play. We can't play against their half court defence all day. We have to get some easy baskets."
