Writing is on the stalls for `over-helping' Raptors

Quote:
So while the Triano-era defensive field-goal percentage is 44.4 per cent down significantly from 46.9 per cent in 17 games under Mitchell the effective defensive field-goal percentage under Triano, taking into account the value of three-balls, is less an improvement. It's 49.6 per cent, creeping closer to the 51.1 per cent under Mitchell. If the message from the coach has changed, the players haven't. So it's back to the recipe cards, even as the man who does the grocery shopping, GM Bryan Colangelo, faces big decisions.

Damned if you do...

Quote:
"I was real happy with our fight," he said, "but I think we can be more aggressive. I mean that first timeout of the game I had to remind our guys that we had settled for a jump shot on every single play to that point. But by halftime when we had the lead, we had 16 free throws in the bank. It takes a little while but these guys -- it's not their nature to be aggressive so we have to keep reminding them and keep running plays where we will be aggressive. We just have to keep telling guys to take the ball to the basket and that's how we will become a better basketball team."
Camp out in key: Bosh

Quote:
"I think sometimes we're too worried about defensive three-second calls," Bosh said. "I mean, if they call it, it's only one point. I'll camp in there all night. They'll have to call me on it."

Bosh is well aware that the Celtics, one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, are regularly called for the three-second infraction under their own basket and feels the Raps can steal a page from of their book.

"You have to stay with it," Bosh said. "I think we can learn from it and I think we're getting better at it."

Bulls need consistency on front line

Quote:
Gooden said he hopes to play tonight at Toronto.

''I made a block on Steve Blake, that's when I strained it,'' he said. ''I want to play.''

Whether Gooden is good to go or not, the Bulls will need more scoring from Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah than they provided the last two games.

Bosh, O'Neal struggling to mesh together for Raptors

Quote:
"I'm not going to lie. It's frustrating," said O'Neal, who averaged 25 points in the four games before he got hurt.

"CB has built off what he did with the Olympic team, but it's been a process for me. There are times when I didn't want to duck into the lane and take away his drive. Other times he wants me to duck in; he'll look at me while I'm kind of standing and waiting for him to make his move. We're still trying to jell and get that chemistry."

Shes cute, but it looks like she used too much of those tan creams that make you look orange in her face.

I hope these pictures are not available outside of Canada. They will start to have an effect on our tourism.

Her head looks too small for her body. It should be higher up on the neck as well.

it really looks like they had a bunch of pictures, but none of them were quite right, so they took the best body shot and pasted the best headshot onto it. creepy.

This is what I've been saying all along. The improvement on defense is all smoke and mirrors. We're clogging the lane against stars, but leaving good shooters open on the perimiter.

It's alot harder than just asking guys to clog the lane and help out. This isn't high school.

Although, the intention is good. I can't really blame Triano, when we got Graham, Moon, Parker and Kapono, constantly running away from a dynamite three point shooters to rotate to a mediocre shooter in the midrange area.

That stuff should be second nature as long as the player takes an active interest in his occupation as an NBA player. The good defenders in this league know everybody inside and out.
